How much does the 2023 Cadillac Escalade cost?

Prices have softened 10.00% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,110 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Cadillac Escalade a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Cadillac Escalade earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7.3/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function and Technology.

Drivers consistently praise its luxury feel, elegant design, and comfortable ride, along with the stylish interior and the absence of accidents. The expert summary also points to its strong technology, impressive stereo, and generous cargo space.

The trade-offs are clear: poor fuel economy and interior materials that can feel cheap. For you, that means the Escalade makes the most sense if you want a full-size luxury SUV with a strong presence, lots of space, and a tech-heavy cabin rather than a value-focused family hauler.

Good and great deals share: 36.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there’s meaningful room to shop.

Is the 2023 Cadillac Escalade reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers describe it as luxurious, comfortable, and stylish, and they also note the absence of accidents in the listings they’re seeing. That combination points to a vehicle that many owners feel good about keeping and living with over time.

The expert drive notes that the V8 can shut off cylinders under light load, which helps it cruise smoothly, and the diesel option is described as genuinely liked for its smooth torque delivery. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a large, complex luxury SUV can be expensive to keep in top shape.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Cadillac Escalade?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any listing you’re serious about, even when the accident-free share looks strong. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the cabin electronics, seat functions, and any optional driver-assistance equipment. Focus on overall condition, because this is a high-end SUV where wear, repairs, and missing features can matter a lot.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Luxury trim uses leatherette upholstery, while higher trims add leather combinations, richer interior details, and more upscale presentation. The cabin is visually impressive, but some controls and back-row touchpoints feel less premium than the front row.
• Powertrain: The standard 6.2-liter gasoline V8 is fine for gentle cruising and towing, but it does not feel especially quick for the vehicle’s size. An optional 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 is also mentioned, and it delivers smooth, immediate torque with better fuel economy.
• Safety package: Forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, a Safety Alert seat, rear parking sensors, and a rear seat reminder are standard. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and Super Cruise are optional.
• Infotainment: The Escalade uses a curved OLED screen layout spanning 38 inches, and the system is among the sharpest and clearest in the industry. Super Cruise is available as an option, and the tech suite also includes a high-res front camera display and a 36-speaker AKG audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The standard V8 can see a combined 16 mpg with 4WD, and the diesel is cited at a combined 22 mpg with 4WD.

Which 2023 Cadillac Escalade trim should I buy?

The 2023 Cadillac Escalade is offered in 5 trim levels: Luxury, Premium Luxury, Premium Luxury Platinum, Sport, and Sport Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• Luxury: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Escalade’s core size, presence, and tech-forward cabin without the higher-trim luxury upgrades. It makes sense if you want the nameplate and the big-screen experience at the lowest starting point.
• Premium Luxury: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a more upscale feel without jumping all the way to the Platinum models. If you want the strongest balance of equipment and price, this is the one to focus on.
• Sport: Choose this if you prefer the darker exterior treatment and a more aggressive look. It keeps the Escalade’s core strengths while leaning into style.
• Premium Luxury Platinum: This is the more indulgent choice if you want the richest cabin presentation and more of the Escalade’s luxury-first character. It suits buyers who care most about comfort and prestige.
• Sport Platinum: This is the most dramatic-looking version, with the Sport trim’s darker appearance and the Platinum-level luxury treatment. It’s the right pick if you want the most upscale sport-themed Escalade.

Safety content notes that blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and Super Cruise are optional rather than standard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Cadillac Escalade?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 36.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,110 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.00% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $65,576, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Cadillac Escalade's resale value?

The current average of $65,576 sits slightly below last year's $72,860.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you as a buyer today but may temper what a future seller can ask in the near term. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you’ll be better positioned to protect value later. The Escalade’s strong name recognition and high owner satisfaction should help support demand over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Cadillac Escalade safe?

The 2023 Escalade earns four-star ratings in front-passenger protection in a frontal crash test and rollover resistance, and five-star ratings in all other NHTSA tests.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, a Safety Alert seat that vibrates to warn the driver of possible danger, rear parking sensors, and a rear seat reminder are standard. Reverse emergency braking is optional, and blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and Super Cruise are optional as well.

Should I buy a 2023 Cadillac Escalade or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 36.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.00% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 carries over mostly unchanged after the redesign, while still offering the industry’s best hands-free driving system and sharp screens.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $58,812, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $65,576 average.
• It offers a strong mix of technology and flexibility.

The bottom line: If you want the latest used Escalade pricing context with strong inventory and a still-fresh redesign, the 2023 is the better default choice. If your priority is saving money and you’re comfortable giving up some of the current-year market context, the 2022 is the more budget-friendly path.
