How much does the 2023 Cadillac Escalade cost?

Prices have softened 9.81% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,129 listings available, which gives you a meaningful pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2023 Cadillac Escalade a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Cadillac Escalade earns 4.8/5 from users and 7.3/10 from experts. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function and Technology.

Drivers consistently praise its luxury, elegant design, and comfortable ride, and they also like the stylish interior and the absence of accidents. In practical terms, that lines up with an SUV that feels distinctive, offers plenty of cargo space, and is aimed at shoppers who want a large luxury vehicle with a strong presence.

The trade-offs are clear: poor fuel economy, cheap-feeling interior materials, and an underwhelming base engine. Even so, the Escalade’s technology-heavy cabin and standout audio setup help it fit buyers who value features and a premium feel more than efficiency.

The market also looks reasonably supportive, with 38.0% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2023 Cadillac Escalade reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a vehicle that feels luxurious, comfortable, and stylish, with owners also noting an absence of accidents in many listings. That combination suggests the Escalade can deliver the kind of ownership experience you want if you prioritize comfort and prestige.

The expert review also describes it as a refined, pleasant vehicle to drive, with a smooth-shifting transmission and a powertrain that can shut off cylinders during gentle cruising. Cadillac’s hands-free highway system and other advanced tech add to the sense that the Escalade is built for easy, modern long-distance use.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that expensive luxury-SUV repairs and upkeep can add up quickly if the truck has been neglected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Cadillac Escalade?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any candidate, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a documented record. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the cabin electronics, suspension behavior, and overall condition, since this model leans heavily on technology and comfort features. Focus on wear in the interior and on whether the vehicle’s equipment works as expected, especially if you want the Escalade to feel worth its premium price.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Luxury trim uses leatherette upholstery, while higher trims add more upscale leather combinations and richer cabin details. The Sport trims darken exterior chrome for a more subdued look, and the Platinum trims add more luxury-oriented presentation.
• Powertrain: The standard 6.2-liter gasoline V8 is smooth for cruising but feels underwhelming when you ask for quick acceleration. An optional 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 is also mentioned, and it brings smoother, immediate torque with better fuel economy.
• Safety package: Forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, a Safety Alert seat, rear parking sensors, and a rear seat reminder are standard. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and Super Cruise are optional.
• Infotainment: The cabin features a large OLED screen layout across the dash, and the system includes a front camera feed with navigation overlays. Super Cruise is available as an option, and it adds hands-free highway driving with eye-tracking monitoring.
• Fuel efficiency: The standard 4WD setup is described as returning a combined 16 mpg, while the optional diesel is described as achieving a combined 22 mpg with 4WD.

Which 2023 Cadillac Escalade trim should I buy?

The 2023 Cadillac Escalade is offered in 5 trim levels: Luxury, Premium Luxury, Premium Luxury Platinum, Sport, and Sport Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• Luxury: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Escalade experience with the least expensive starting point. It makes sense if you want the size, presence, and core tech without stretching for luxury extras.
• Premium Luxury: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more upscale equipment without jumping all the way to the Platinum pricing tier. If you want a more polished Escalade without going overboard, this is the one to focus on.
• Sport: Choose this if you prefer the darker exterior treatment and want the Escalade’s big presence with a more aggressive look.
• Premium Luxury Platinum: This trim is for buyers who want a more indulgent cabin and are willing to pay for it. It also pairs with optional air suspension, which supports the Escalade’s more refined driving character.
• Sport Platinum: This is the most style-forward version, combining the Sport look with the Platinum-level luxury treatment. It suits you if you want the most dramatic appearance and the richest feature set.

Forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, a Safety Alert seat, rear parking sensors, and a rear seat reminder are standard across the lineup, while several other driver-assistance features remain optional.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Cadillac Escalade?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and deal activity to reward comparison shopping.

• Deal availability: 38.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,129 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.81% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $65,857, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Cadillac Escalade's resale value?

The current average of $65,857 sits slightly below last year's $73,022.

That price movement suggests the Escalade has softened enough to create a better buying opportunity now, but it also means future sellers may face some pressure if the market stays soft. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may be better positioned to limit depreciation pain later.

The Escalade’s strong demand for luxury, technology, and presence should help it remain desirable to shoppers who want a full-size premium SUV. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Cadillac Escalade safe?

The 2023 Escalade earns four-star ratings in frontal crash and rollover, and five-star ratings in all other NHTSA tests.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, a Safety Alert seat that vibrates to warn you of danger, rear parking sensors, and a rear seat reminder. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and Super Cruise are optional.

Should I buy a 2023 Cadillac Escalade or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 38.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.81% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It carries over the redesigned Escalade’s standout tech and hands-free driving strengths.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $59,118, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $65,857 average.
• It adds everyday convenience features and still benefits from the fresh redesign.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2023 if you want the stronger current-market mix of inventory, deal availability, and the Escalade’s core tech appeal. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2022 is the smarter value play because it delivers much of the same flagship-size experience for less money.
