People used to buy BMWs for their build quality and performance. Now, the brand is spinning off wallowing, cost-conscious, also-ran dreck like this. People buy this for the badge on the hood; nothing sets the X5 above offerings from the rest of the ‘luxury’ midsized crossover pack. And yes, this is a crossover, and not a SUV (or was that Sports Activity Vehicle, BMW marketing department?). Nobody is takes these things off-road. The car couldn’t handle it. The X5 is a blue ribbon you hope to purchase one day, rather than work to achieve.
