This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can shop with some leverage but should still move quickly on the best listings.

• Deal availability: 35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can matter if you're planning to sell later. A softer used-price environment may limit upside in the near term, but it can also help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. If demand stays steady, a well-kept example should still appeal to shoppers looking for a premium used SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 BMW X4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87% — always verify the vehicle history report.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of current pricing, inventory depth, and owner satisfaction, the 2023 is the primary year to target.
