How much does the 2023 BMW X3 cost?

Prices have softened 7.55% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,378 listings available, which suggests you have a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 BMW X3 a good car?

Yes — the 2023 BMW X3 earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. It stands out as a compact luxury SUV that blends driving enjoyment with everyday usefulness, pairing sharp handling and responsive steering with a high seating position and easy access. It also brings a premium interior, modern technology, rear-seat room, and useful cargo space, so it fits well if you want something upscale that still works for family duty. With 39.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you also have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2023 BMW X3 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 X3 is presented as a premium SUV with strong powertrains, a high-quality cabin, and technology that was current for its model year. It also has the kind of everyday versatility that helps a used luxury SUV stay appealing over time. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is the higher maintenance and repair cost that typically comes with premium vehicles.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 BMW X3?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, even when the listing looks clean, because a strong accident-free share does not guarantee the individual vehicle’s past. Put inspection priority on the cabin, electronics, and overall condition, since this model leans heavily on premium features and technology. You should also pay attention to signs of deferred maintenance, because ownership costs can run higher than on non-luxury alternatives.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 BMW X3?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting extreme bargains.

• Deal availability: 39.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,378 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.55% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $33,633, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 BMW X3's resale value?

The current average of $33,633 sits slightly below last year's $36,380.

That softer pricing can help you buy more confidently now, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market if prices stay under pressure. The X3’s premium positioning and broad appeal should still support demand, especially for well-kept examples with clean history and strong equipment. If you maintain the vehicle well and keep documentation organized, you improve your odds of protecting value when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 BMW X3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 39.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.55% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $28,357, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $33,633 average.
• It offers a refreshed, well-established luxury crossover with broad appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction, the 2023 is the better primary target. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2022 is the more budget-friendly path and still gives you a compelling luxury SUV experience.
