Overview
The 2023 Audi R8 is a head-turning, mid-engined supercar. It combines thrilling performance with a sensible cockpit that makes it comfortable to daily drive an exotic V10 performance machine. For 2023, Audi bids farewell to the V10 engine with a special R8 GT. Only 333 examples will be produced, offering more power and more aggressive styling. The GT includes seven settings for the electronic stability control to provide optimum desired wheel slip in performance driving. It is 44 lbs lighter than the R8 RWD Coupe. It also comes with carbon ceramic brakes, sport-performance bucket seats, a carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic anti-roll bar, and a more hardcore suspension system.
The Audi R8 comes equipped with a 5.2-liter V10 engine. It makes 562 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed through a seven-speed S-Tronic automatic transmission to the rear wheels or to available Quattro all-wheel drive (AWD). In the R8 GT, this V10 engine puts out 602 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque. The GT variant is only offered in a rear-wheel drive (RWD) configuration.
