The 2023 Audi R8 is a head-turning, mid-engined supercar. It combines thrilling performance with a sensible cockpit that makes it comfortable to daily drive an exotic V10 performance machine. For 2023, Audi bids farewell to the V10 engine with a special R8 GT. Only 333 examples will be produced, offering more power and more aggressive styling. The GT is offered exclusively in the Coupe body style, while the non-GT variants are available in Coupe and Spyder (convertible) form. The GT includes seven settings for the electronic stability control to provide optimum desired wheel slip in performance driving. It is 44 lbs lighter than the R8 RWD Coupe. It also comes with carbon ceramic brakes, sport-performance bucket seats, a carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic anti-roll bar, and a more hardcore suspension system. The Audi R8 comes equipped with a 5.2-liter V10 engine. It makes 562 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed through a seven-speed S-Tronic automatic transmission to the rear wheels or to available Quattro all-wheel drive (AWD). In the R8 GT, this V10 engine puts out 602 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque. The GT variant is only offered in a rear-wheel drive (RWD) configuration. The standard 2023 Audi R8 Coupe has an estimated zero-to-60-mph time of 3.6 seconds. Audi claims the GT can do the same sprint in 3.4 seconds on the way to a top speed of 199 mph. The non-GT R8 has a top track speed of 204 mph. The R8 with RWD returns fuel economy of 14 mpg city, 23 highway, and 17 combined. The R8 Quattro returns 13 mpg city, 18 highway, and 15 combined. The R8 GT returns fuel economy of 14 mpg city, 21 highway, and 17 combined. The R8 requires premium fuel. Base MSRP for the 2023 Audi R8 is $158,600 for the Coupe and $171,000 for the Spyder. Pricing has not yet been stated for the R8 GT, but it is expected to cost around $222,000. The Audi R8 is backed by a four-year/50,000-mile limited warranty.
