Is the 2023 Audi Q5 a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Audi Q5 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 7/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Safety.

Drivers consistently praise its luxurious feel, advanced technology, and smooth performance, and they also like the stylish design and comfortable interior. In use, that lines up with the Q5’s calm, refined character and its good amount of technology.

The main trade-off is sluggish initial acceleration, and the expert review also notes that the Q5 can feel delayed when you ask for quick power. For you, that means the Q5 makes the most sense if you value comfort, polish, and everyday ease more than brisk response.

Good and great deals account for 42.9% of listings, which is a healthy sign that there are worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2023 Audi Q5 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers describe the Q5 as luxurious, smooth, and comfortable, and they also highlight its advanced technology and stylish design. That combination points to a vehicle that many owners feel good about living with over time.

The expert review also emphasizes the Q5’s sturdy build quality and quiet cabin, with no squeaks or creaks over rough surfaces. It also notes that the engine and exhaust stay pleasantly quiet in normal driving, which supports the sense of dependable day-to-day use.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright durability and more about whether you’re comfortable with premium running costs and the Q5’s slower initial response.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Audi Q5?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify service records before you buy. A pre-purchase inspection is especially useful on a luxury SUV like this, since you’ll want to confirm that the cabin, electronics, and drivetrain all feel as polished as they should.

Focus on whether the vehicle’s condition matches its mileage and price, and pay close attention to how quickly it responds from a stop. If you’re shopping a higher-trim example, make sure the added equipment works properly and that the features you want are actually present.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin is refined, but the model’s age is beginning to show, and the standard setup uses a 10-inch touchscreen rather than a larger tablet-style display. Heated front seats and leather seating are standard, while a heated steering wheel and heated rear seats are available.
• Powertrain: The Q5 is offered with three engines: the 40 TFSI, the 45 TFSI, and the plug-in hybrid 55 TFSI. All versions use a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and standard Quattro all-wheel drive, but the review notes noticeable delay in power delivery.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, a blind-spot monitor, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and front and rear parking sensors. Premium Plus adds lane-keep assist, a surround-view camera system, and traffic jam assist, while Prestige adds matrix-design LED headlights, a head-up display, a semi-automated parking system, and a traffic sign reader.
• Infotainment: All Q5s come with a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, smartphone app functions, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. Mid-range trims add a customizable digital instrument panel, and higher trims get a Bang & Olufsen audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The 40 TFSI is rated at 23 mpg city, 29 mpg highway, and 25 mpg combined. The 45 TFSI is also rated at 25 mpg combined, though its city figure drops to 22 mpg. The 55 TFSI plug-in hybrid is estimated at 23 miles of electric range and 26 mpg combined once the battery is depleted.

Which 2023 Audi Q5 trim should I buy?

The 2023 Audi Q5 is offered in 3 trim levels: Premium, Premium Plus, Prestige.

Here's the short version:

• Premium: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Q5 experience with standard all-wheel drive, leather seating, heated front seats, and the basic safety and tech setup. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price, but it leaves some desirable convenience and driver-assistance upgrades on the table.
• Premium Plus: This is the best-value trim because it adds a good amount of tech and safety equipment for the money. You get features such as lane-keep assist, a surround-view camera system, traffic jam assist, and a customizable digital instrument panel, which makes it the trim most shoppers should target.
• Prestige: This is the luxury-focused choice if you want the most equipment. It adds matrix-design LED headlights, a head-up display, a semi-automated parking system, and a traffic sign reader, so it suits you best if you want the most advanced Q5 experience.

Rear-seat side impact airbags are offered as an option on all trims.

• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.81% compared with last year.

If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can also use the softened pricing to shop carefully and target a well-equipped example rather than stretching for a newer or pricier alternative.
