The 2022 Toyota Corolla Hybrid combines all the reliable, economical attributes of the Corolla sedan and adds the fuel-saving benefits of a hybrid drivetrain. The Corolla Hybrid was introduced for the 2020 model year, and it largely carries over to 2022, save for some additional available features. The battery does not impact the trunk, as the Hybrid provides 13.1 cubic feet of trunk space, same as the non-hybrid Corolla.

The Corolla Hybrid is available in a single trim, the LE. In the conventionally powered Corolla, the LE is a mid-tier trim, and it comes well equipped. Standard features include automatic climate control, remote keyless entry, a Wi-Fi hotspot, a 7-inch digital screen within the instrument panel, two USB ports, and satellite radio. It also comes standard with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Amazon Alexa.

As of this year, buyers can now opt for the available Premium Package, which adds synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat.

The Corolla Hybrid combines a 1.8-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with a pair of electric motors and a lithium-ion battery pack. The setup makes up to 121 horsepower, routed to the front wheels through a continuously variable transmission. More than just saving fuel, the Corolla Hybrid also comes with a drive mode selector that can tap into more of that gas and electric power for a livelier driving experience. You can also select Normal or Eco drive modes. Fuel economy for the 2022 Toyota Corolla Hybrid is 53 mpg city, 52 highway, and 52 combined.

The Corolla Hybrid is loaded with all of the latest driver assistance features, as part of Toyota Safety Sense 2.0. This suite of tech includes forward-collision avoidance, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, adaptive cruise control, traffic-sign recognition, and pedestrian-and-cyclist detection. The only optional safety features are blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic assist.

Base MSRP for the 2022 Toyota Corolla Hybrid is $23,750 in its lone trim. The Premium Interior Package adds $1,525 to the price. The Corolla’s hybrid components are backed by an eight-year/100,000-mile warranty, and the battery is backed by a 10-year/150,000-mile warranty.
