How much does the 2022 Toyota Camry cost?

Prices have softened 2.65% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,352 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Toyota Camry a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Toyota Camry earns a 4.9/5 user rating and a 7.2/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its reliability, fuel efficiency, and stylish design, and they also value the comfortable interior and strong value for money. That lines up with the Camry’s broader appeal as a roomy, reliable, efficient, safe, and affordable sedan. The main trade-offs are outdated technology and the fact that some drivers want more power from the four-cylinder engine.

With its available V6 engine and practical everyday focus, it fits you well if you want a mainstream sedan that covers the basics especially well without feeling stripped down. 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Toyota Camry reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback repeatedly points to reliability, dependability, and a car you can count on over time. The expert evaluation also describes it as reliable and efficient, and the cost-effectiveness notes reinforce that it is a comfortable, affordable, reliable, safe, and efficient family car. Toyota also includes complimentary scheduled maintenance for the first two years of ownership.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about core durability and more about finding a well-kept example with the features and condition you want.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Toyota Camry?

At 69.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage or lower-priced example. Focus on condition, maintenance records, and whether the equipment you want is actually present on the trim you are shopping. If you are comparing multiple listings, pay close attention to signs of prior bodywork, interior wear, and how the technology and driver-assistance features operate in real use.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Camry TRD stands apart with its performance-focused styling, including an aerodynamic body kit, matte-black 19-inch wheels, red brake calipers, and a more aggressive rear diffuser. It also brings a more dramatic look than the rest of the lineup, while the base SE-based setup keeps the price lower than the more expensive XSE V6 trim.
• Powertrain: You can choose a four-cylinder engine, a V6 engine, or a gas-electric hybrid powertrain. The TRD uses a 3.5-liter V6 with 301 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Every Camry has Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+, which includes adaptive cruise control and lane-centering assistance. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard on the TRD but optional on LE and SE.
• Infotainment: The TRD comes with a standard 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, SiriusXM satellite radio, Safety Connect, and WiFi Connect. A 9-inch touchscreen and 9-speaker JBL premium audio system are available.
• Fuel efficiency: The TRD is rated at 25 mpg in combined driving, and the test vehicle averaged 24.8 mpg.

Which 2022 Toyota Camry trim should I buy?

The 2022 Toyota Camry is offered in 1 trim level: TRD.

Here's the short version:

The TRD: is the standout choice if you want the Camry with the most aggressive styling and the strongest performance character. It adds the 3.5-liter V6, track-tuned suspension hardware, bigger brakes, summer performance tires, and a more dramatic exterior treatment, so it suits you best if you care more about driving feel and appearance than maximum cabin polish. The trade-off is that the interior can feel a little cheap and underwhelming compared with the price and performance. Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ is standard, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert comes standard on this trim.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Toyota Camry?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,352 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.65% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 69.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,359, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Toyota Camry's resale value?

The current average of $22,932 sits slightly below last year's $23,557.

That price movement suggests the Camry has softened enough to create a better buying opportunity now, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively if the market stays soft. If you buy well today, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later. Strong demand for a practical, well-liked sedan can help support values, especially when the car has been maintained carefully.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Toyota Camry safe?

The 2022 Toyota Camry earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and five-star ratings in every single evaluation the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration performs.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Every Camry has Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+, which includes adaptive cruise control and lane-centering assistance. Toyota also includes Safety Connect standard on every trim, with automatic collision notification, an emergency assistance button, roadside assistance access, and a stolen vehicle locator. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard on the TRD and optional on LE and SE.

One caveat is that the lane-keeping and adaptive cruise systems can feel overly intrusive at times, especially on roads with changing lane markings or curves.

Should I buy a 2022 Toyota Camry or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 69.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.65% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 adds standard heated side mirrors, standard dual-zone automatic climate control on most trims, and a new paint palette.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $21,692, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $22,932 average.
• It offers more choice, including multiple powertrains, six trim levels, and available all-wheel drive.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2022 if you want the newer model-year updates and a strong mix of value, safety, and owner satisfaction. If your priority is spending less up front and you want more drivetrain flexibility, the 2021 is the better budget-conscious alternative.
