How much does the 2022 Subaru Impreza cost?

Is the 2022 Subaru Impreza a good car?

Generally — with a 4.33/5 user rating, the 2022 Subaru Impreza looks like a sensible pick if you want a practical all-weather compact car. Its standard all-wheel drive gives it a clear advantage in poor road conditions, and its appeal is rooted in everyday usefulness rather than flash. It is described as affordable and practical fun, with a balance of commuting comfort, errand-friendly livability, and capable traction for rough weather.

That same focus on function comes with tradeoffs: the ride is rough in daily driving, the interior materials are cheap, and many examples have been heavily used, abused, or modified. Even so, if you want year-round confidence and straightforward utility, the Impreza’s strengths line up well with that use case. 38.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Subaru Impreza reliable?

Owners rate it 4.33/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2022 Subaru Impreza’s reliability story is tied to its practical, no-frills character: it is built to be a straightforward compact car with standard all-wheel drive and everyday usability. The same traits that make it appealing for commuting and bad weather also make it a sensible ownership proposition if you value function over polish.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about complexity and more about how hard a given example has been driven, maintained, or modified.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Subaru Impreza?

At 72.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you get too far into the process, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection on any promising car. Focus on signs of prior damage, uneven wear, and evidence of heavy use or modifications, since those issues matter more than cosmetic imperfections on a car like this. Pay close attention to overall condition and maintenance consistency, because the best used examples are the ones that have been treated like practical daily drivers rather than project cars.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Subaru Impreza?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 38.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 665 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.83% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 72.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $17,789, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Subaru Impreza's resale value?

The current average of $17,820 sits slightly below last year's $19,334.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more carefully now but may also limit near-term upside if you plan to sell soon. For future resale, the Impreza’s value will likely depend on how well the car has been maintained and whether it presents as a clean, unmodified example. A well-kept car should remain easier to move than one with questionable history or visible wear.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.33/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Subaru Impreza or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 38.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 72.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.83% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.33/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $17,097, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $17,820 average.
• It adds standard AWD with a broader sedan-and-hatchback lineup.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and deal availability, the 2022 is the better starting point. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2021 is the more budget-friendly path and still gives you the core Impreza strengths that matter most.
