Is the 2022 RAM 2500 a good car?

Is the 2022 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback also highlights reliability, dependability, and a truck that owners feel confident using over time. That matters if you plan to keep your used truck for years, because strong owner confidence often translates into lower ownership anxiety. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the specific truck you choose has been maintained well and hasn’t been abused in hard-duty service.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 RAM 2500?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on every truck you consider, even if the listing looks clean at first glance. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on signs of heavy towing, suspension wear, and overall mechanical condition. Because this is a work-capable heavy-duty truck, condition matters as much as mileage when you’re comparing used examples.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 RAM 2500?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,955 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.60% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 80.6% of listings are accident-free.

What is the 2022 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $41,890 sits slightly below last year's $46,341.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key is to buy well and keep the truck in strong condition so you preserve as much value as possible. Trucks with broad buyer appeal and strong owner satisfaction tend to hold demand better over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.60% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $48,084, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $41,890 average.
• It adds a more off-road-focused, livable heavy-duty setup.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2022 if you want the better value and a strong mix of capability, comfort, and owner satisfaction. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer truck, the 2023 is the better secondary path, but price-sensitive buyers will likely find the 2022 easier to justify.
