Used 2022 Nissan Pathfinder for Sale nearSaint Louis, MO

How much does the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder cost?

Prices have softened 13.48% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,374 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and prices.

Is the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 4.8/5 model with an expert rating of 8.33/10. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the comfortable seating, spacious interior, smooth performance, and strong value for the price. The Pathfinder also stands out for its stylish design and useful cargo space, which makes it appealing if you want a family SUV that feels pleasant to live with and practical for hauling people and gear.

The main trade-offs are its poor fuel economy and unimpressive technology. In use, that means you may like it most if you prioritize comfort, space, and everyday usability over efficiency and cutting-edge tech.

Good and great deals account for 40.7% of listings, so there’s a meaningful share of the market priced competitively.

Is the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable-feeling SUV with comfortable seating, a spacious cabin, and smooth performance that many drivers felt good about living with over time. That kind of praise usually matters most when you’re trying to judge whether a used SUV will feel trustworthy after the first owner has put miles on it.

The expert evaluation also emphasizes that the Pathfinder is meant to be reassuring and well-rounded, with a stable ride and a transmission that generally shifts smoothly. Nissan also notes that the first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house, which can help lower early ownership friction.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the transmission and overall condition match the vehicle’s mileage and price.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Nissan Pathfinder?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any candidate, even if the listing looks clean. After that, prioritize a close inspection of the interior, seating layout, and transmission behavior, since those are the areas that most affect day-to-day satisfaction. It also makes sense to compare trim equipment carefully, because the Pathfinder’s value changes a lot depending on how much tech and comfort gear you want.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Pathfinder comes in S, SV, SL, and Platinum. The base S is the most stripped-down version, while SV adds more convenience equipment and SL moves you into a more upscale cabin with semi-aniline leather-appointed seats. Platinum is the most luxurious choice, with second-row captain’s chairs standard, a fully digital 12.3-inch instrument panel, and a head-up display.
• Powertrain: You get a 3.5-liter V6 with 284 horsepower and 259 lb-ft of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive are both offered, and AWD models add more drive and terrain modes plus hill descent control.
• Safety package: Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard, and it includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, high-beam assist, rear automatic braking, driver alertness monitor, rear door alert, and forward-collision warning. Upper trims add a surround-view monitor.
• Infotainment: Standard equipment includes an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, satellite radio, and a 7-inch digital driver-information display. Upper trims get a 9-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, door-to-door connected navigation, and NissanConnect Services.
• Fuel efficiency: FWD models are rated at 21 mpg city, 26 mpg highway, and 23 mpg combined. AWD models keep the same combined figure, while the Platinum AWD returns 20 mpg city, 25 mpg highway, and 22 mpg combined.

Which 2022 Nissan Pathfinder trim should I buy?

The 2022 Nissan Pathfinder is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SV, SL, and Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the value entry point if you want the Pathfinder’s core space, V6 power, and standard safety tech without paying for extras. It makes the most sense if you mainly want a well-equipped family SUV and can live without the more upscale cabin touches.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more convenience and comfort equipment while staying below the luxury-focused upper trims. If you want a balanced mix of features and price, this is the one to focus on.
• SL: This trim is the sweet spot if you want a more premium feel, including semi-aniline leather-appointed seats and access to more available tech and comfort upgrades. It suits you if you plan to keep the SUV longer and want the cabin to feel noticeably nicer.
• Platinum: This is the top choice if you want the most upscale Pathfinder experience, including standard second-row captain’s chairs, a fully digital 12.3-inch instrument panel, and a head-up display. It’s the right pick if you value comfort and equipment over price.

Safety Shield 360 is standard across the lineup, while the surround-view monitor is reserved for upper trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Nissan Pathfinder?

It looks like a buyer-friendly moment if you’re shopping carefully.

• Deal availability: 40.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,374 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.48% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 86.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $24,717, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder's resale value?

The current average of $24,717 sits slightly below last year's $28,568.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that a lower entry price today can mean a more competitive resale environment later unless the vehicle is especially clean and well equipped.

Strong condition, accident-free history, and desirable trims should matter more if you want to protect value over time. A well-kept Pathfinder with the right equipment should still appeal to family-SUV shoppers looking for space and comfort.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder safe?

The 2022 Nissan Pathfinder earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard, and it includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, high-beam assist, rear automatic braking, driver alertness monitor, rear door alert, and forward-collision warning. A rearview camera is standard too, and upper trims add a surround-view monitor.

Ten airbags are standard, while the top Platinum trim gets 11. That means you get a strong safety foundation across the lineup, with a few extra features reserved for higher trims.

Should I buy a 2022 Nissan Pathfinder or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 40.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.48% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Nissan’s safety tech and rugged redesign make this year feel more capable and well-rounded.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $30,123, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $24,717 average.
• It adds the Rock Creek edition, a tougher-looking trim with a more adventurous image.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2022 is the smarter buy because prices are softer and inventory is healthy. If you’re willing to pay more for the newer model-year update and the Rock Creek option, the 2023 is the better fit.
