Used 2022 Nissan Pathfinder for Sale nearMurfreesboro, TN

How much does the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder cost?

Prices have softened 13.73% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,346 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder earns a 4.8/5 from owners and an 8.33/10 from our experts. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the comfortable seating, spacious interior, smooth performance, and strong value for the price. Those themes line up well with the Pathfinder’s family-focused use case, especially if you want a three-row SUV that feels pleasant to live with and useful for hauling people and gear.

The main trade-offs are weaker fuel economy and unimpressive technology, plus some owners noted the non-sliding third-row seats and mixed transmission impressions. Even so, the Pathfinder’s mix of style, utility, and everyday comfort makes it a well-rounded choice for shoppers who prioritize space and comfort over cutting-edge tech.

There are 37.6% good or great deals in the market, so you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with repeated praise for the comfortable seating, spacious cabin, and smooth performance. That kind of consistency matters if you want a used SUV you can count on over the long term.

The expert evaluation also describes the Pathfinder as a well-rounded family hauler with a stable ride and a transmission that generally shifts smoothly. Nissan’s new capless fuel filler is a small ownership convenience, and the overall package suggests solid day-to-day usability.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is more about satisfaction with the transmission and fuel economy than major ownership drama.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Nissan Pathfinder?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 85% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any Pathfinder you’re considering, even if the listing looks clean. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the transmission behavior, third-row usability, and overall interior condition, since those are the areas most likely to affect your day-to-day experience. Focus on whether the vehicle’s equipment level matches your needs, especially if you want more comfort or tech features.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The S, SV, SL, and Platinum trims differ most in seating, upholstery, and convenience features. Base models use cloth upholstery and standard eight-passenger seating, while higher trims add semi-aniline leather-appointed seats, and Platinum gets standard second-row captain’s chairs and a more upscale cabin. If you want more comfort and a richer interior, the upper trims are the ones to target.
• Powertrain: The Pathfinder uses a 3.5-liter V6 with 284 horsepower and 259 lb-ft of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. You can choose FWD or AWD, and AWD models add more drive and terrain modes plus hill descent control. Fuel economy is strongest in FWD form, while AWD and Platinum AWD models trade a bit of efficiency for added capability.
• Safety package: Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard and includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, high-beam assist, rear automatic braking, driver alertness monitor, rear door alert, and forward-collision warning. Upper trims add a surround-view monitor, and Platinum gets an extra airbag.
• Infotainment: Standard equipment includes an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, satellite radio, voice recognition, and a 7-inch digital driver-information display. Upper trims upgrade to a 9-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, door-to-door connected navigation, and NissanConnect Services.
• Fuel efficiency: FWD models are rated at 21 mpg city, 26 mpg highway, and 23 mpg combined. AWD models keep the same combined figure, while the AWD Platinum returns 20 mpg city, 25 mpg highway, and 22 mpg combined.

Which 2022 Nissan Pathfinder trim should I buy?

The 2022 Nissan Pathfinder is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SV, SL, and Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Pathfinder’s core value with standard safety tech, an 8-inch touchscreen, and eight-passenger seating. It makes sense if you want the lowest price and are comfortable skipping the nicer cabin materials and convenience upgrades.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more convenience without pushing you into luxury pricing. It also opens the door to available second-row captain’s chairs and the panoramic moonroof and roof rack package, which makes it a smart middle ground.
• SL: This trim is the sweet spot if you want a more upscale feel, since it brings semi-aniline leather-appointed seating and can add the Bose Premium Audio system. It’s the trim to consider if you want a noticeable step up in comfort and tech without going all the way to Platinum.
• Platinum: This is the most luxurious Pathfinder, with standard second-row captain’s chairs, a fully digital 12.3-inch instrument panel, head-up display, 9-inch touchscreen, wireless charging, wireless Apple CarPlay, and the surround-view monitor. Choose it if you want the most complete feature set and don’t mind paying for it.

Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard across the lineup, while the surround-view monitor is reserved for upper trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Nissan Pathfinder?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can shop selectively without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 37.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,346 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.73% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 85.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $24,409, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder's resale value?

The current average of $24,409 sits slightly below last year's $28,294.

That price movement suggests the Pathfinder has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right price. If you purchase near the current market average or below it, you may have less downside than someone who bought when prices were higher.

Strong owner satisfaction can also support demand when it’s time to sell. A used SUV that feels comfortable, spacious, and well-liked tends to stay appealing to family buyers, which helps resale value over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder safe?

The 2022 Nissan Pathfinder earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard, and it includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, high-beam assist, rear automatic braking, driver alertness monitor, rear door alert, and forward-collision warning. A rearview camera is standard, and upper trims add a surround-view monitor.

The main safety caveat is that neither IIHS nor NHTSA crash-tested this model year, so you’re relying on the standard safety equipment and expert evaluation rather than published crash results.

Should I buy a 2022 Nissan Pathfinder or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 37.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.73% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It brings back much of the Pathfinder’s rugged capability while adding thoughtful features and safety tech.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $29,645, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $24,409 average.
• It adds the Rock Creek edition, a tougher-looking version with a more adventurous image.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2022 is the stronger buy because prices are lower and the market still offers plenty of inventory. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer model-year update and the Rock Creek option, the 2023 is the better secondary path.
