Used 2022 Nissan Frontier for Sale nearColorado Springs, CO

How much does the 2022 Nissan Frontier cost?

Prices have softened 7.08% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,355 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Nissan Frontier a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Nissan Frontier earns a 4.7/5 user rating and an 8.3/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its comfortable cabin, impressive technology, roomy interior, and powerful engine. The overview also points to a truck that feels modern while still delivering real capability, which fits if you want a midsize pickup that balances everyday comfort with utility.

The main trade-offs are heavy steering and poor fuel economy, and the expert review also notes that the truck’s steering can feel harder to manage around town. Even so, the market signal is encouraging: 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2022 Nissan Frontier reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a truck that feels dependable in daily use, with owners highlighting its comfort, power, and overall solid upgrade feel. The review summary also suggests confidence in the truck’s long-term appeal, even though reliability reactions are mixed compared with competitors.

The expert review reinforces that sense of durability by describing the Frontier as a capable, well-rounded truck with a strong powertrain and useful off-road hardware. Nissan also includes a maintenance perk in the broader ownership experience through the available package content, which can help reduce early ownership friction.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that mixed reliability impressions mean condition and maintenance history matter more than usual.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Nissan Frontier?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because accident-free listings are common but not universal. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on steering feel, cabin condition, and how the truck drives at low speeds and on the highway. If you plan to use it like a truck, also pay attention to bed equipment, towing-related wear, and whether the features you want are actually present on the specific listing.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lowest trims use an 8-inch touchscreen, while higher trims can bring a 9-inch screen and more upscale equipment. The off-road-ready PRO-4X also adds charcoal leather seating, so base-trim shoppers should check carefully for feature gaps.
• Powertrain: The Frontier uses a 3.8-liter V6 with a nine-speed automatic transmission, and it delivers strong acceleration and passing power. It is available with rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, and the transmission is tuned to help under load.
• Safety package: Nissan Safety Shield 360 includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, a driver attention monitor, intelligent forward collision warning, trailer sway control, rear-door alert, and an easy-fill tire alert. The Technology Package adds blind-spot warning, rear cross traffic alert, rear automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control.
• Infotainment: A standard 8-inch touchscreen comes on the S and SV trims, while PRO-4X gets a 9-inch screen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, but they require a wired connection rather than wireless projection.
• Fuel efficiency: Rear-wheel-drive models are rated at 18 mpg city and 24 mpg highway, while four-wheel-drive models are rated at 17 mpg city and 22 mpg highway. The combined figure is 19 mpg.

Which 2022 Nissan Frontier trim should I buy?

The 2022 Nissan Frontier is offered in 5 trim levels: S, SV, PRO-X, PRO-4X, and PRO-X.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, and it gives you the basics with the standard 8-inch touchscreen and the Frontier’s core V6 powertrain. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the redesigned truck, but you should expect fewer comfort and tech upgrades than the higher trims.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it keeps the Frontier’s strong fundamentals while adding more everyday usability. It is the trim to focus on if you want a balanced mix of equipment and price.
• PRO-X: This trim gives you the PRO-4X look in a 2WD setup, so it suits you if you want the styling without the full off-road hardware. It loses the locking differential and skid plates, but keeps the appearance appeal.
• PRO-4X: This is the off-road-focused choice, with hill-start assist, hill-descent control, an electronic locking rear differential, Bilstein shock absorbers, skid plates, and an off-road monitor. Choose it if trail capability matters to you.
• PRO-X: This trim also appears as a 2WD alternative to the PRO-4X look, but it is not the same as the off-road model and should be evaluated for its styling-first appeal.

The Technology Package adds blind-spot warning, rear cross traffic alert, rear automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Nissan Frontier?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,355 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.08% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 86.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $26,380, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Nissan Frontier's resale value?

The current average of $26,380 sits slightly below last year's $28,390.

That price decline suggests the Frontier has become more affordable for used buyers, which can make it easier to attract interest if you sell later. For you as a future seller, the current market shows that pricing discipline matters: trucks that are clean, well-equipped, and accident-free should stand out more than average examples.

The good news is that demand should remain supported by the model’s strong owner satisfaction and broad appeal as a comfortable, capable midsize pickup. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Nissan Frontier safe?

The 2022 Nissan Frontier has not been crash-tested yet by NHTSA or IIHS.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Nissan Safety Shield 360 comes standard and includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, a driver attention monitor, intelligent forward collision warning, trailer sway control, rear-door alert, and an easy-fill tire alert. The Technology Package adds blind-spot warning, rear cross traffic alert, rear automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control.

Because this is a redesigned model without published crash-test results, you should pay close attention to the specific safety equipment on the listing you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2022 Nissan Frontier or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.08% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 brings a redesigned cabin, stronger technology, and real off-road capability.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $31,733, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $26,380 average.
• It adds a few more standard features while staying familiar.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2022 is the smarter buy because it combines a lower average price with strong owner satisfaction and a fresh redesign. If you’re willing to pay more for a slightly newer truck with a few added standard features, the 2023 is the secondary path.
