Summary

Why it stands out
The 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC stands out as a compact luxury SUV that looks much like an updated version of the first GLC, while adding Mercedes-Benz’s latest tech and powertrains. It shares many parts with the C-Class sedan and wagon, and it is slightly larger than before, with boot space that rose by 2.5 cu-ft. The result is a vehicle that aims to blend style, practicality, and a more modern cabin without losing the familiar GLC formula.
Inside, the 2022 GLC leans heavily into Mercedes-Benz’s newest design theme, with huge display screens, lots of ambient lighting, and a glitzy look. It is also very well equipped, with standard features including wireless device charging, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto support, heated and electrically adjustable front seats, MB-Tex upholstery, LED headlights, and driver-assistance features such as active braking and blind-spot assist. Higher trims add more luxury and convenience, including a Burmester sound system, navigation, surround view, a head-up display, insulated glass, and Digital Light headlights.
The engine lineup is broad and fully electrified, starting with the GLC 300’s 2.0-liter inline-four gas engine with mild-hybrid tech and 255 horsepower, available with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The AMG models bring much more performance, with the AMG GLC 43 rated at 416 horsepower and the AMG GLC 63 S E Performance at 671 horsepower, while both get rear-wheel steering and standard all-wheel drive. The GLC 350e 4Matic plug-in hybrid adds a 134-horsepower electric motor, 313 horsepower in total, and an electric-only range of 54 miles. Its main drawbacks are familiar to Mercedes-Benz shoppers: some versions are expensive, and the brand’s reliability record is not especially strong.

Like the way it drives. Hate that most of the controls (esp. radio) are all touch screen. You have to take your eyes off the road to change radio stations (no up / down on the steering wheel). All switching between radio, nav, phone, etc involve looking at a screen and usually involve a touch to the screen, a touch pad scroll, plus another button to push ... while driving. No compass. This car looks a little snazzier, but my Toyota Highlander had much nice and more intuitive features in the interior.

| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $29,071 |
| Year-Round Low | $29,071 |
| Year-Round High | $32,373 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $32,378 |

There are 2,441 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.
Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC a good car?
Yes — the 4.5/5 user rating points to strong shopper satisfaction. The 2022 GLC is positioned as a compact luxury SUV that blends style, practicality, and a more modern cabin, while adding Mercedes-Benz’s latest tech and powertrains. It also brings a well-equipped interior with features like wireless device charging, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto support, heated and electrically adjustable front seats, and driver-assistance tech. With 39.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you also have some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC reliable?
Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The overview also notes that Mercedes-Benz’s reliability record is not especially strong, so you should weigh the brand’s reputation against the GLC’s appeal. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is worth factoring into your budget, especially if you want to avoid surprise repair costs.
What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a pre-purchase inspection to confirm the vehicle’s condition. Pay close attention to wear on the interior electronics, driver-assistance features, and any signs that the luxury equipment has not been maintained properly.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC?
This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can be selective without expecting deep distress pricing.
- Deal availability: 39.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 2,441 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 10.21% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 86.3% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $29,071, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC's resale value?
The current average of $29,071 sits slightly below last year's $32,378.
That softer pricing can help you buy at a more favorable entry point, but it also suggests the market has adjusted downward from prior levels. If you plan to resell later, buying well matters because your future value will depend heavily on how much room you leave between purchase price and market demand. A well-kept example should still appeal to shoppers looking for a premium compact SUV with strong equipment and a polished cabin.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2022 if:
- 39.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 10.21% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2021 if:
- At $25,762, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $29,071 average.
- It offers an upscale cabin with athletic, comfortable driving dynamics.
Consider the 2023 if:
- At $37,981, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $29,071 average.
- It adds a more refined cabin and keeps comfort and efficiency front and center.
The bottom line: The 2022 is the best all-around path if you want a modern GLC with strong equipment and a softer market price than newer models. If your priority is saving money, the 2021 is the better secondary path, while the 2023 makes sense if you want the newer redesign and are willing to pay more.
