How much does the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLB cost?

Prices have softened 12.63% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,227 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLB a good car?

Generally — the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLB earns a 4/5 user rating and a 7.3/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 10/10.

It stands out for packing a lot of utility into a compact, boxy shape, with seating for up to seven people and a focus on everyday usefulness over style. The overview also points to the premium performance and luxury upgrades you expect from Mercedes, while noting that the driving character can involve compromises in daily use. That makes it a strong fit if you want a small SUV that prioritizes practicality and upscale features over visual flair.

39.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLB reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The GLB’s practicality and utility help support its appeal for long-term ownership, and the expert notes also frame it as a relatively affordable way into a Mercedes-Benz SUV. The performance write-up adds that the GLB250 is the better daily-driver choice, which matters if you want a version that feels easier to live with over time. The cost-effectiveness commentary also suggests keeping upgrades in check if you want to avoid stretching the budget too far.

If you buy used, the main long-term ownership risk is ending up with a heavily optioned example that brings more complexity and higher running costs than you want.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLB?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re looking at a higher-mileage or heavily optioned example. Pay close attention to how the cabin electronics, ride quality, and braking feel in real-world driving, since those are the kinds of areas that can shape day-to-day ownership satisfaction.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GLB250 and AMG GLB35 differ meaningfully in character, with the AMG version adding a more powerful drivetrain and a more sophisticated AWD system. The base GLB250 is the more practical starting point, while the AMG GLB35 is the more specialized choice if you want the sportier setup.
• Powertrain: Both versions use a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, but the AMG GLB35 is tuned for much stronger output and pairs it with an AMG SpeedShift eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The GLB250 is the easier daily-driver choice, while the AMG version is quicker but more demanding in everyday use.
• Safety package: The Driver Assistance Package adds 12 driver-assistance and collision-avoidance technologies, including adaptive cruise control and lane-centering assistance. The test vehicle lacked several features from that package, so check carefully for those gaps if safety tech matters to you.
• Infotainment: The GLB uses Mercedes-Benz User Experience with standard Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Mercedes Me connected services. The AMG GLB 35 includes a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen, and the Multimedia Package adds navigation with augmented reality.
• Fuel efficiency: The AMG GLB35 is rated at 22 mpg in combined driving, while the GLB 250 4Matic is rated at 25 mpg in combined driving.

Which 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLB trim should I buy?

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLB is offered in 2 trim levels: GLB250 and AMG GLB35.

Here's the short version:

• GLB250: This is the trim most buyers should start with because it’s the more sensible daily-driver choice and the one the expert commentary recommends for most people. It keeps the GLB’s core strengths — space, practicality, and premium features — without the AMG model’s firmer ride and more demanding personality.
• AMG GLB35: Choose this if you want the quicker, more aggressive version and you’re willing to trade comfort for performance. It adds the stronger drivetrain, sport suspension, and more performance-focused hardware, but it’s best suited to buyers who really want a small Mercedes SUV with a sporty edge.

The safety package is worth adding if you want the GLB to have the more complete driver-assistance setup.

• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.63% compared with last year.

What is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLB's resale value?

The current average of $25,639 sits slightly below last year's $29,344.

That price decline suggests the GLB has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right price. If you keep mileage reasonable and choose a well-equipped, clean-history example, you may be better positioned when it’s time to sell. The current market also shows enough inventory to compare condition and equipment carefully before you commit.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLB or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 39.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.63% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It combines a compact footprint with seating for up to seven people and a base price under $40,000.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $22,791, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $25,639 average.
• It stands out for flexible space and an optional third row.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market mix of inventory, pricing, and feature content, the 2022 is the better default choice. If your top priority is spending less up front, the 2021 is the more budget-friendly path.
