How much does the 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Class cost?

Prices have softened 6.56% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 829 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Class a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Class earns a 4.67/5 user rating, which supports its appeal for shoppers who want an SUV with iconic style, modern luxury, and serious off-road ability. The overview points to a refined cabin, MBUX infotainment with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a strong mix of performance and capability. It is especially compelling if you value a distinctive design and high-end presence over practicality or efficiency. 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which adds some shopping flexibility.

Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Class reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview suggests a vehicle built around a proven formula: rugged character, modernized hardware, and a luxury-focused cabin. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that this kind of high-end, performance-oriented SUV can be expensive to keep in top shape.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Class?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then inspect the SUV closely for signs of prior damage, uneven wear, or deferred maintenance. Focus on overall condition, because a vehicle with this price point and capability can become costly if cosmetic or mechanical issues were ignored. A thorough pre-purchase inspection is especially important if you want to avoid surprises after purchase.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Class?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 829 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.56% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $159,288, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Class's resale value?

The current average of $159,440 sits slightly below last year's $170,625.

That softer pricing can help you buy more strategically now, but it also means future resale will depend heavily on how well the vehicle holds demand. If you buy at the right price and keep the SUV in strong condition, you give yourself a better chance of limiting depreciation. The model's distinctive image and luxury appeal can help support demand when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.56% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $136,301, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $159,440 average.
• It offers the same rugged, luxury-focused G-Class character at a lower entry price.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-year market position and are comfortable paying more, the 2022 is the better primary target. If your priority is saving money up front, the 2021 is the smarter secondary path because it delivers the same core appeal for less.
