How much does the 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Class cost?

Prices have softened 6.63% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 844 listings available, which gives you a meaningful pool to compare prices and conditions.

Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Class a good car?

Yes — 4.67/5 is a strong user rating for this model year. The 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Class stands out because it blends an unmistakable military-grade shape with modern luxury and serious off-road ability. It keeps the boxy silhouette that made it famous, but underneath it is a much more modern machine with a plusher interior, electric power steering, and MBUX infotainment with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. For you, that means the appeal is less about practicality and more about iconic style, high-end comfort, and genuine capability. With 35.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Class reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Class is presented as a refined, high-end SUV with a modern cabin, strong performance, and a long list of luxury and safety features. It also carries the tradeoff of being expensive and thirsty, which matters when you think about long-term ownership. For used buyers, the biggest reliability risk is less about the badge and more about the cost of keeping a complex, high-end SUV in top condition.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Class?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a full history report, a pre-purchase inspection, and a close look at maintenance records before you commit. Focus on condition details that matter on a premium SUV, especially signs of prior damage, uneven wear, or deferred upkeep. Because this model is costly to buy and maintain, a clean, well-documented example is the safest path.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Class?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively rather than rush.

• Deal availability: 35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 844 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.63% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $159,125, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Class's resale value?

The current average of $159,125 sits slightly below last year's $170,422.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more carefully now. For a future seller, the softer trend means you should pay close attention to entry price and condition, because those factors will matter when it is time to resell. A well-kept example with strong documentation should hold up better than one with visible wear or uncertain history.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.63% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $136,132, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $159,125 average.
• It offers the same rugged, luxury-focused G-Class character with strong off-road appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the newer year with a softer market and a broad listing pool, the 2022 is the better primary target. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2021 is the smarter secondary path, especially if you find one in excellent condition.
