How much does the 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Class cost?

Prices have softened 7.37% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 844 listings available, which gives you a meaningful pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Class a good car?

Yes — the 4.7/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. The 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Class stands out because it blends an unmistakable military-grade shape with modern luxury and serious off-road ability. For you, that means a distinctive SUV that delivers the G-Class formula in a refined, high-end package, with a plusher interior, modern infotainment, and genuine capability. The market also shows 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which adds some shopping flexibility.

Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Class reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Class pairs its rugged image with a modern cabin, electric power steering, and a long list of luxury and safety features. That combination suggests a vehicle built to deliver a premium ownership experience, but it also remains expensive and thirsty, so long-term ownership risk for used buyers is tied more to cost than to simplicity.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Class?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus your inspection on body condition, signs of prior repairs, and whether the vehicle has been maintained consistently. Because this SUV is expensive and high-end, small condition issues can matter more than they would on a mainstream used vehicle. A careful test drive should also confirm that the luxury features, infotainment, and driver-assist systems work as expected.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Class?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully and enough deal activity to reward patience.

• Deal availability: 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 844 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.37% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 86.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $158,291, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Class's resale value?

The current average of $158,291 sits slightly below last year's $170,878.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more strategically today. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that a strong purchase price matters, because resale value will depend on how well the vehicle holds demand after ownership costs are factored in. The model's distinctive image and premium positioning can help support interest over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.37% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $135,286, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $158,291 average.
• It keeps the same rugged luxury identity while offering a lower entry price.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2022 if you want the stronger current-market mix of inventory, deal share, and buyer satisfaction. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2021 is the better value path and still gives you the G-Class character you want.
