Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz CLA a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Mercedes-Benz CLA earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. The overview shows a compact luxury sedan that leans into style and technology, with a premium-feeling cabin and a modern, screen-heavy layout. If you want a small Mercedes that emphasizes design, brand cachet, and everyday usability, this model year fits that use case well. Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz CLA reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview describes a turbocharged engine, a seven-speed automatic transmission, and available all-wheel drive on some versions, which gives you a straightforward mechanical setup to evaluate. Its compact size and premium tech focus can make it appealing for daily use, but you should still pay close attention to maintenance history and overall condition when shopping used. For long-term ownership, the main risk is buying a neglected example rather than one that has been consistently cared for.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz CLA?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then confirm that the car’s condition matches the listing photos and description. Because the CLA is a compact luxury sedan with a premium interior and tech-heavy cabin, inspect the cabin electronics, trim condition, and signs of wear carefully. A pre-purchase inspection is especially useful if you want to avoid surprises in a car that depends heavily on its upscale presentation.

What is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz CLA's resale value?

The current average of $28,743 sits slightly below last year's $30,389.

That softer pricing suggests the model has become more approachable for used buyers, which can help keep demand steady if you decide to sell later. The current market also shows a defined low-to-high range, so condition and mileage will matter when you eventually price your car. If you buy well and keep the car in strong shape, you should be better positioned to preserve value.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Mercedes-Benz CLA or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 39.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.42% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $23,373, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $28,743 average.
• It offers sharp styling and a premium-feeling cabin.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market balance of inventory, condition, and owner satisfaction, the 2022 is the better starting point. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2021 is the more budget-friendly path and still keeps the CLA’s style-first appeal.
