Used 2022 Lexus LX for Sale near Utah

Is the 2022 Lexus LX a good car?

Generally — you’re looking at a 4/5 user-rated SUV with an expert rating of 7.00/10. The standout strength is Performance at 8/10.

The 2022 Lexus LX is a long-overdue redesign with a new platform, updated infotainment and driver-assist technology, and a new twin-turbocharged V6, so it feels much more modern than the previous generation. It also fits the role of a luxury SUV that blends capability with everyday comfort, thanks to standard all-wheel drive, a comfortable ride, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The trade-offs are clear: the design may be polarizing, fuel economy is poor, and the technology can be unintuitive.

With 31.8% of listings priced as good or great deals, there’s at least some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Lexus LX reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2022 LX is built around a new platform and a new twin-turbocharged V6, which gives it a more modern foundation than the outgoing model. It also keeps the LX’s identity as a Toyota Land Cruiser–based luxury SUV, which supports its reputation for durability and everyday toughness.

The performance setup is straightforward and robust: a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6, a 10-speed automatic, and standard four-wheel drive with low range. Lexus also backs it with a four-year, 50,000-mile basic warranty and a six-year, 70,000-mile powertrain warranty.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the LX’s complexity and premium hardware can make neglected examples more expensive to live with.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Lexus LX?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a history report and then prioritize a close inspection of the body, interior, and electronics, since this SUV’s value depends heavily on condition. Pay extra attention to signs of prior damage, uneven wear, and whether the technology and driver-assist features operate as intended. Because the LX is a premium body-on-frame SUV, a clean, well-kept example matters more than usual.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base trim is the entry point, while the Premium, F Sport, Luxury, and Ultra Luxury trims add more equipment as you move up. The F Sport brings a black mesh grille, model-specific 22-inch wheels, an F Sport steering wheel, shifter and sport seats, plus exclusive Ultra White exterior and Circuit Red interior colors. The Ultra Luxury includes every feature from the lower trims as standard.
• Powertrain: The 2022 model switches to a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 with 409 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic and standard four-wheel drive with low range. It also uses adaptive dampers and Active Height Control suspension, and the F Sport adds a Torsen limited-slip differential.
• Safety package: Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 is standard, with forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, adaptive cruise control, emergency steering assist, automatic high beams, traffic sign recognition, lane departure warning with steering assist, and Lane Tracing Assist automated lane centering. There’s no hands-free driving system equivalent to Cadillac’s Super Cruise or Lincoln’s ActiveGlide.
• Infotainment: The LX uses a dual-screen setup with a 12.3-inch upper touchscreen and a 7-inch lower touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, wireless phone charging, Apple Music and Amazon Music integration, and natural-language voice recognition.
• Fuel efficiency: EPA-rated fuel economy is 19 mpg combined, 17 mpg city, and 22 mpg highway. Lexus also says the LX averaged 16.5 mpg in mixed driving during testing.

Which 2022 Lexus LX trim should I buy?

The 2022 Lexus LX is offered in 5 trim levels: base, Premium, F Sport, Luxury, and Ultra Luxury.

Here’s the short version:

• base: This is the starting point if you want the LX’s core strengths without moving up the price ladder. You still get the redesigned platform, twin-turbo V6, standard four-wheel drive, and the standard safety and infotainment setup.
• Premium: This is the trim to target if you want a better-equipped LX without jumping too far in price. It builds on the base model and is the logical step for shoppers who want more comfort and convenience.
• F Sport: Choose this if you want the sportiest-looking LX. It adds the black mesh grille, 22-inch wheels, F Sport interior touches, and a Torsen limited-slip differential.
• Luxury: This is the better fit if you want a more upscale feel and are willing to pay for it. It sits above the F Sport in the lineup and adds more premium equipment.
• Ultra Luxury: This is the top choice if you want the most complete LX and don’t want to add options. It includes every feature from the lower trims as standard equipment, making it the most fully loaded version.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, so you don’t need to move up trims to get Lexus Safety System+ 2.5.

Is the 2022 Lexus LX safe?

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The LX comes standard with Lexus Safety System+ 2.5, which includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, adaptive cruise control, emergency steering assist, automatic high beams, traffic sign recognition, lane departure warning with steering assist, and Lane Tracing Assist automated lane centering.

One important caveat is that crash-test ratings from IIHS and NHTSA weren’t available at the time of publication, so you won’t get a published crash-test benchmark to lean on here. The standard driver-assistance suite is strong, but it does not include a hands-free driving system.

Should I buy a 2022 Lexus LX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 model brings a long-overdue redesign with a new platform, updated infotainment and driver-assist technology, and a new twin-turbocharged V6 engine.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the right pick if you want the redesigned LX with its newer hardware and more modern cabin. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby model years and focus on the best-maintained example rather than chasing the newest badge alone.
