Used 2022 Lexus LX for Sale nearLos Angeles, CA

Is the 2022 Lexus LX a good car?

Generally — the 2022 Lexus LX earns a 4/5 user rating and a 7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 8/10. It arrives as a long-overdue redesign with a new platform, updated infotainment and driver-assist technology, and a new twin-turbocharged V6 engine, which helps it feel more modern than the outgoing model. For you, that means a flagship SUV that still leans into comfort and capability, especially if you want standard all-wheel drive and a luxury SUV that can handle more than just pavement. The trade-offs are a potentially polarizing design and poor fuel economy, and the technology can be unintuitive. Good and great deals account for 27.0% of listings, which gives you some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Lexus LX reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction. The 2022 LX is described as a long-overdue redesign, and that matters because it brings a new platform, updated infotainment, and updated driver-assist tech rather than carrying over the older setup unchanged. Its new twin-turbocharged V6 and 10-speed automatic are presented as the core of the redesign, and the SUV’s comfortable ride and strong off-road hardware suggest a durable, use-it-for-years kind of ownership experience. Lexus also backs it with a four-year, 50,000-mile basic warranty and a six-year, 70,000-mile powertrain warranty. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that its complex technology and heavy-duty SUV hardware can make upkeep and ownership costs less forgiving than the reliability reputation alone might suggest.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Lexus LX?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.9% — always verify the vehicle history report. You should still check the report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper history review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the drivetrain, suspension, and the condition of the cabin electronics, since this LX leans heavily on both mechanical capability and layered tech. It also makes sense to confirm that the vehicle’s features work as intended, especially if you plan to use the SUV’s off-road and driver-assist systems regularly.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base trim gives you the core LX experience, while the Premium, F Sport, Luxury, and Ultra Luxury trims add more equipment and luxury content. The F Sport stands apart with a black mesh grille, model-specific 22-inch wheels, an F Sport steering wheel, shifter and sport seats, plus exclusive Ultra White exterior and Circuit Red interior colors. The Ultra Luxury is the most fully equipped version and includes everything from the lower trims.
• Powertrain: You get a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 paired with a 10-speed automatic and standard four-wheel drive with low range. It makes 409 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque, and the LX also uses adaptive dampers and Active Height Control suspension to balance comfort with off-road ability.
• Safety package: Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 is standard, with forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, adaptive cruise control, emergency steering assist, automatic high beams, traffic sign recognition, lane departure warning with steering assist, and Lane Tracing Assist. There is no hands-free driving system equivalent to the ones offered by some rivals.
• Infotainment: The LX uses a dual-screen setup with a 12.3-inch upper touchscreen and a 7-inch lower touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, wireless phone charging, Apple Music and Amazon Music integration, and four standard USB ports.
• Fuel efficiency: EPA-rated fuel economy is 19 mpg combined, 17 mpg city, and 22 mpg highway. The expert test drive also notes an observed 16.5 mpg average in mixed driving.

Which 2022 Lexus LX trim should I buy?

The 2022 Lexus LX is offered in 5 trim levels: base, Premium, F Sport, Luxury, and Ultra Luxury.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the entry point, and it gives you the redesigned LX with standard all-wheel drive, the new twin-turbo V6, and the core luxury-SUV formula. It makes sense if you want the LX’s capability and comfort without paying for extra trim content.
• Premium: This is the first step up and is the better fit if you want a more rounded luxury experience than the base model without jumping all the way to the higher-priced trims.
• F Sport: This is the one to choose if you want the sportiest appearance and cabin details, including the black mesh grille, 22-inch wheels, and F Sport-specific interior touches. It adds style, but not mechanical upgrades beyond the standard setup.
• Luxury: This trim is the better-value upgrade if you want a more upscale feel and more equipment without going all the way to the top model.
• Ultra Luxury: This is the most lavish version, and it includes every feature from the lower trims as standard. It’s the right pick if you want the fullest LX experience and don’t mind paying for it.

Choose the 2022 if:

• 27.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
