Used 2022 Lexus GX for Sale nearAugusta, GA

How much does the 2022 Lexus GX cost?

Prices have softened 5.06% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,242 listings available, which gives you a meaningful pool to compare before you commit.

Is the 2022 Lexus GX a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Lexus GX earns 4.71/5 from owners and 4.17/10 from our experts. The standout strength is Performance at 6/10.

Owners repeatedly praise its off-road capability, reliability, comfort, spacious interior, and stylish design. That lines up with the GX’s use case as a rugged luxury SUV built for towing and off-road driving first, with everyday polish taking a back seat. If you want a traditional body-on-frame SUV with a V8 and standard four-wheel drive, this model year fits that brief well. Good and great deals account for 37.4% of listings, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Lexus GX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.71/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to reliability, dependability, and a vehicle you can count on over time. The expert evaluation also describes the GX’s reputation for bulletproof reliability, which reinforces that impression from a used-buyer perspective. Lexus’s standard maintenance and ownership experience is framed around durability rather than complexity, and the GX’s straightforward mechanical setup supports that image. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about mechanical fragility and more about living with an older design that can feel dated and inefficient.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Lexus GX?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any listing you like, because accident-free status is only a starting point. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the drivetrain, suspension, brakes, and any signs of hard use, especially if the SUV may have been used for towing or off-road driving. You should also pay close attention to cabin condition and entry/exit wear, since owner feedback points to some usability compromises.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GX is available in Standard, Premium, and Luxury trim, and the cabin quality is consistently strong across the lineup. The base trim leaves you with fewer amenities than the higher trims, while the Luxury trim is the one tied to the off-road package.
• Powertrain: You get a 4.6-liter V8 with 301 horsepower and 329 pound-feet of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic and full-time four-wheel drive. It is built for torque, towing, and steady capability rather than quick acceleration.
• Safety package: Lexus Safety System+ is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and automatic high-beam headlights. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and Safety Connect are also included.
• Infotainment: The GX uses a 10.3-inch touchscreen with standard Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, and navigation. It also supports a dual-screen view, and Lexus Enform connected services include a WiFi hotspot.
• Fuel efficiency: The GX is described as returning 16 mpg in combined driving, and the test loop returned 16.8 mpg.

Which 2022 Lexus GX trim should I buy?

The 2022 Lexus GX is offered in 3 trim levels: Standard, Premium, and Luxury.

Here's the short version:

• Standard: This is the entry point if you want the GX’s core formula at the lowest price. You still get the V8, standard four-wheel drive, and the rugged character that defines the model, but you give up some of the extra convenience and luxury touches found higher up the range.
• Premium: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds more comfort and convenience without changing the GX’s fundamental mission. It is also the trim used as the basis for the Black Line Special Edition, which gives it extra appeal if you want a more distinctive look.
• Luxury: Choose this if you want the most upscale GX and you’re interested in the available Off-Road Package. That package adds Multi-Terrain Select, Crawl Control, skid plates, improved drivetrain cooling, and both Multi-Terrain and Panoramic View monitoring cameras.

Safety System+ is standard across the lineup, so you do not need to move up a trim just to get the core driver-assistance suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Lexus GX?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 37.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,242 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.06% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 82.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $47,158, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Lexus GX's resale value?

The current average of $47,158 sits slightly below last year's $49,672.

That softer pricing suggests the GX has already moved through some of its near-term depreciation pressure. For a future seller, that can be a good sign if you buy at the right price, because the market has already adjusted downward from last year’s level. The GX’s niche appeal also helps support demand among shoppers who specifically want a rugged luxury SUV with a V8 and towing ability. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.71/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Lexus GX safe?

The Lexus GX does not have crash-test ratings to consult from IIHS or NHTSA.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard Lexus Safety System+ includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and automatic high-beam headlights. The GX also includes blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and Safety Connect with automatic collision notification and emergency calling. A key caveat is that it lacks several modern driver-assistance features that are common in newer luxury SUVs, including lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, and active blind-spot intervention.

Should I buy a 2022 Lexus GX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 37.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.06% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.71/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds a new 10.3-inch touchscreen with standard smartphone integration and modern connected features.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $41,619, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $47,158 average.
• It keeps the same rugged body-on-frame formula with minor updates.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $54,998, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $47,158 average.
• It leans even more clearly into old-school towing and off-road appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, features, and used-market availability, the 2022 is the smart default. If your budget is tighter, the 2021 gives you the same basic character for less money. If you want to spend more for a newer model year, the 2023 is mainly for buyers who value the GX formula enough to pay up for it.
