The 2022 Discovery’s appeal comes from its combination of luxury, standard four-wheel drive, and improved on-road manners compared with earlier versions. It also benefits from a more modern cabin layout and added technology, which can make day-to-day use feel more current. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a complex luxury SUV with off-road hardware can be more demanding to maintain if prior care was inconsistent.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Land Rover Discovery?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the specific listing matches the seller’s claims about condition and maintenance. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you plan to use the SUV for family hauling or regular long-distance driving. Focus on the cabin electronics, drivetrain behavior, and overall wear, since those areas matter most in a luxury SUV with this much technology.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Land Rover Discovery?

It looks like a buyer’s market, with softer pricing and a healthy share of value-oriented listings.

• Deal availability: 41.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 234 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.42% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $28,204, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Land Rover Discovery's resale value?

The current average of $28,207 sits slightly below last year's $32,958.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. For a future seller, that also means resale value will depend heavily on how well the vehicle is maintained and presented when it’s time to trade or list it. A clean history and strong condition matter more when the broader market has softened.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Land Rover Discovery or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 41.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.42% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• It adds new engines and refreshed styling while keeping the Discovery’s comfort and off-road focus.

The bottom line: If you want the more current-feeling choice, the 2022 is the better primary path because it combines strong owner satisfaction, favorable pricing, and a healthy share of clean listings. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2021 is worth a look because it still delivers the Discovery’s core strengths and may offer a lower entry point.
