How much does the 2022 Kia Stinger cost?

Prices have softened 3.55% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 463 listings available, which gives you a modest pool to compare before you buy.

Is the 2022 Kia Stinger a good car?

Yes — 4.89/5 owners’ rating points to strong owner satisfaction, and the expert score is 8.33/10. The standout strength is Safety at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise the car’s luxurious feel, fast performance, comfortable interior, great handling, and advanced technology. Those themes line up well with the Stinger’s use case as a stylish performance sedan that still aims to deliver value and everyday comfort.

The trade-offs are worth keeping in mind: the back seat is cramped, and the touchscreen response is sluggish. The market also shows 33.3% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests you can still find attractive pricing if you shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Kia Stinger reliable?

Owners rate it 4.89/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a car that feels reliable, dependable, and trouble-free in daily use, with many drivers emphasizing the car’s strong long-term appeal. The expert evaluation reinforces that sense of durability by describing the Stinger as having most of its growing pains out of the way and being a legitimate contender.

On the ownership side, the cost-effectiveness review also notes that the Stinger offers premium-car appeal without premium pricing or maintenance costs. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure prior wear, brake condition, and service history are clean before you commit.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Kia Stinger?

At 72.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with performance-oriented equipment. Pay close attention to brake condition, infotainment responsiveness, and overall interior wear, since those are the kinds of issues that can affect ownership satisfaction even when the car looks good on paper.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GT-Line uses a different lighting setup and 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, while GT trims get more LEDs and 19-inch alloys. GT2 models add the most upscale equipment, including a head-up display and 360-degree surround view, so the base trim leaves some desirable features on the table.
• Powertrain: The GT-Line uses a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 300 hp and 311 lb-ft of torque. GT models keep the 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 with 368 hp and 376 lb-ft of torque, and all models use an eight-speed automatic with paddle shifters.
• Safety package: Drive Wise is the named driver-assistance suite. Standard equipment includes rear parking assist, a backup camera, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, high-beam assist, blind-spot monitoring plus collision avoidance, rear cross-traffic alert plus collision avoidance, forward-collision avoidance plus pedestrian/cyclist detection and junction-turning assist, navigation-based adaptive cruise control, lane follow assist, safe exit warning, and highway driving assist. Forward parking assist, a head-up display, and a 360-degree surround view remain GT2-only.
• Infotainment: All models get a 10.25-inch infotainment display, wireless smartphone charging, navigation with Uvo link, Uvo eServices remote commands, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, multi-device Bluetooth connectivity, and split-screen functionality. GT2 models add a larger TFT display with blind-spot live video feed and a customizable head-up display.
• Fuel efficiency: The GT-Line RWD returns 22 mpg city, 32 mpg highway, and 25 mpg combined. AWD GT-Line models are rated at 21 mpg city, 29 mpg highway, and 24 mpg combined. GT RWD models are rated at 18 mpg city, 25 mpg highway, and 20 mpg combined, while GT AWD models are rated at 17 mpg city, 24 mpg highway, and 20 mpg combined.

Which 2022 Kia Stinger trim should I buy?

The 2022 Kia Stinger is offered in 3 trim levels: GT-Line, GT1, and GT2.

Here's the short version:

• GT-Line: This is the entry point, but it still brings the new 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, the 10.25-inch infotainment display, wireless smartphone charging, and the expanded standard safety suite. It’s the best-value trim if you want the Stinger’s style and performance without paying for the V6.
• GT1: This trim is the value-oriented step up, starting lower than the GT2 while adding the larger 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 and more upscale interior touches. If you want the stronger engine and a more premium feel without going all the way to the top trim, this is the sweet spot.
• GT2: This is the most fully equipped version, adding Nappa leather, a 15-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, a larger TFT display with blind-spot live video feed, a customizable head-up display, forward parking assist, and a 360-degree surround view. Choose this if you want the most luxury and tech.

The safety package is strongest on the GT2, where the extra parking and visibility tech is standard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Kia Stinger?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 463 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.55% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 72.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $27,683, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Kia Stinger's resale value?

The current average of $28,025 sits slightly below last year's $29,056.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favorable point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. For a seller, the current trend suggests you should expect value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment rather than broad market appreciation.

Well-kept examples with desirable trims and clean histories should hold up better than average. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.89/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Kia Stinger safe?

The 2022 Kia Stinger earns a Top Safety Pick+ from the IIHS and five-star ratings from NHTSA.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Kia’s Drive Wise suite is standard and includes rear parking assist, a backup camera, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, high-beam assist, blind-spot monitoring plus collision avoidance, rear cross-traffic alert plus collision avoidance, forward-collision avoidance plus pedestrian/cyclist detection and junction-turning assist, navigation-based adaptive cruise control, lane follow assist, safe exit warning, and highway driving assist.

The main safety caveat is that some of the most helpful visibility and parking features remain limited to the GT2, including forward parking assist, a head-up display, and a 360-degree surround view.

Should I buy a 2022 Kia Stinger or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 72.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.55% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.89/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 refresh adds more power, updated design touches, and more standard technology.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $24,298, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $28,025 average.
• It offers an absolute value performance/luxury car package.

The bottom line: If you want the newer refresh with more standard tech, stronger base-engine performance, and improved safety equipment, the 2022 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2021 remains the budget-friendly alternative and still delivers the Stinger’s core appeal.
