CarGurus Analysis: 2022 Kia EV6
overall

Summary
With 603 currently listed for sale and an average price of $23,015.00, 38.5% of 2022 Kia EV6s for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2022 Kia EV6 4.6 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.67 / 10.
91.7% of 2022 EV6 models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2022 Kia EV6 stands out as Kia’s first ground-up EV, and it makes a strong impression by breaking away from the brand’s usual affordable, cost-conscious image. It is described as a $60,000 electric performance car that can genuinely compete with a Tesla Model 3 on tech, style, acceleration, and charging time. That combination of fresh thinking and performance-oriented character gives it a distinctive place in the EV market.
It also brings several clear strengths to the table: stylish design, impressive technology, and a fun-to-drive personality. Owners echo that appeal by praising its smooth ride, powerful performance, stylish design, spacious interior, and advanced safety features. Those positives help explain why the EV6 feels so unusual and exciting.
The tradeoffs are just as important, though. The EV6 is held back by unimpressive electric range, and it is also noted for not having much cargo space. Some owners likewise feel the pricing may not fully justify the features offered, so while the 2022 Kia EV6 is compelling and innovative, it is not without practical compromises.

The lovely ‘22 Kia EV6 GT-Line has great features beautifully lit by the interior leds. It is a comfortable ride with a luxurious ambience. The backseat is spacious and the trunk fits a wheelchair with the seats reclined back. The car has helpful emergency braking, precise perimeter alerts, smart adaptive cruise control, seamless lane changing and stable lane keeping capability. We receive lots of compliments. Is the 2022 Kia EV6 a good car?
Yes — the 2022 Kia EV6 earns a 4.6/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 10/10.
Owners consistently praise its smooth ride, powerful performance, and stylish design. They also highlight the spacious interior and advanced safety features, which helps explain why it feels so distinctive and appealing.
The trade-offs are real, though: the expert review points to unimpressive electric range and limited cargo space. That makes it a better fit if you value style, tech, and driving enjoyment more than maximum practicality.
For shoppers who want a stylish, tech-forward EV that feels special on the road, the EV6 fits the bill well. The market also shows 35.4% good or great deals, so there are still some attractive listings to consider.

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
User feedback points to a car that feels smooth, dependable, and enjoyable to live with over time, with owners repeatedly calling out its strong performance and comfortable driving experience. The same feedback also suggests it has the kind of appeal that can make daily ownership feel trouble-free when the car is maintained properly.
The expert review reinforces that sense of confidence by describing the EV6 as quick, well-integrated, and easy to live with in everyday use. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic durability and more about whether the battery and charging performance still meet your needs.
What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Kia EV6?
Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you plan to rely on the car for longer trips or frequent charging. Focus on overall condition, charging behavior, and whether the car has been used in a way that matches your daily driving needs.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base Light trim is the least expensive but comes with the smallest battery pack and undersized single motor, while higher trims add more equipment and capability. The Wind and GT-Line are the more appealing choices if you want a better balance of features and usability.
- Powertrain: The EV6 is offered with single-motor and dual-motor setups, including rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions. Output ranges from the base model’s modest setup to the stronger dual-motor configuration, and the expert review notes that the more powerful versions feel quick and responsive.
- Safety package: The standard Highway Driving Assist suite includes lane-keeping, cyclist and pedestrian detection, front and rear cross-traffic alert, a driver attention monitor, rear parking sensors, safe exit warning, and rear occupant alert. Front parking sensors come on the Wind RWD trim, while the Wind AWD adds automatic rear braking and 360 cameras.
- Infotainment: You get dual 12-inch screens, navigation, a wireless charger, and a system that is quick and easy to use. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not included, so you’ll need a wired connection for phone projection.
- Range & charging: The expert review cites a 274-mile EPA estimate and a 77-kWh battery on the tested version, with DC fast charging up to 240 kW and a 35-minute charge from 15 to 80 percent in testing. The review also notes that cold-weather range can drop sharply, so pay close attention to how the car has been charged and driven.
- Battery health: On a used EV, you should check battery state-of-health, ask how often the car has been fast-charged versus charged at home, and confirm how much battery warranty coverage remains. A careful battery check matters more here than on a gas car because range and charging speed are central to the ownership experience.
Which 2022 Kia EV6 trim should I buy?
The 2022 Kia EV6 is offered in 4 trim levels: Light, Wind RWD, Wind AWD, GT-Line.
Here's the short version:
- Light: This is the entry point, but the expert review says it has the smallest battery pack and undersized single motor, so it’s the least compelling choice unless price is your top priority.
- Wind RWD: This is the best-value trim to start with because it moves you into the larger battery and a more acceptable single-motor setup, making it a smarter everyday choice than the base model.
- Wind AWD: Choose this if you want the added traction and the extra safety hardware, including automatic rear braking and 360 cameras.
- GT-Line: This is the most feature-rich choice, adding evasive steering assist and more advanced adaptive cruise behavior, so it suits you best if you want the fullest tech and safety experience.
The safety package is standard on the Light trim, but the Wind and GT-Line trims add meaningful extras that make them easier to recommend.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Kia EV6?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.
- Deal availability: 35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 658 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 7.41% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 91.5% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $20,674.90, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2022 Kia EV6's resale value?
The current average of $23,086 sits slightly below last year's $24,934.
That kind of price movement suggests the EV6 has already absorbed some of its early depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right price. If demand stays healthy, a used EV6 bought near the current average may have a better chance of holding value than one purchased at a premium.
The flip side is that resale will still depend heavily on battery condition, charging performance, and how well the car fits buyer expectations for range and practicality. If those factors check out, the EV6’s distinctive design and strong tech appeal should help it remain desirable.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2022 Kia EV6 safe?
It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.
The EV6 comes standard with the Highway Driving Assist suite, which includes lane-keeping, cyclist and pedestrian detection, front and rear cross-traffic alert, a driver attention monitor, rear parking sensors, safe exit warning, and rear occupant alert. The Light trim gets that full core package, while the Wind RWD adds front parking sensors, the Wind AWD adds automatic rear braking and 360 cameras, and the GT-Line adds evasive steering assist.
The expert review also notes that the EV6 has no published U.S. crash test results from government or independent agencies. That means you should lean more heavily on its standard driver-assistance equipment and trim-specific safety upgrades when comparing used listings.
Should I buy a 2022 Kia EV6 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2022 if:
- 35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 7.41% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The expert review highlights standout style, strong tech, and quick charging as defining strengths for this year.
The bottom line: If you want the EV6’s distinctive design, strong tech, and engaging driving character, the 2022 is the year to target. If you’re more price-sensitive, focus on the listings that land near the lower end of the current range and prioritize battery condition and charging performance over trim prestige.
