Used 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 for Sale near Oregon

How much does the 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 cost?

Prices have softened 7.17% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 735 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 earns a 4.9/5 user rating and a 9/10 expert rating. The model scores 10/10 across Technology and Safety.

The owner feedback points to a smooth drive, a luxurious feel, and strong value for money. Those themes line up with the overview’s emphasis on spaciousness, impressive technology, and mainstream-friendly pricing, so you’re looking at an EV that prioritizes comfort and everyday usability over flash for its own sake.

The main trade-offs are a potentially polarizing design and fairly pedestrian performance. If you want a distinctive EV that feels well equipped and easy to live with, the Ioniq 5 fits that brief well; if outright speed matters most, you may want to look elsewhere.

The market also shows 38.1% good or great deals, which is a healthy sign for shoppers who want room to negotiate.

Is the 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner summary also points to a smooth, trouble-free feel and strong value for money, which are the kinds of comments that usually matter most when you’re judging day-to-day dependability. The expert evaluation reinforces that impression with a quiet cabin, strong noise isolation, and a composed driving experience that should make the car feel settled in regular use.

Hyundai also includes a two-year unlimited 30-minute fast-charging benefit through Electrify America, which can reduce some early ownership friction for EV shoppers. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the battery and charging system have been treated well, since those are the parts you’ll rely on most over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on an EV where charging habits and battery condition matter. Focus on overall condition, charging-port health, tire wear, and whether the car has been used mostly for home charging or frequent DC fast charging.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin is described as low-key and relaxed, with a “Living Space” theme, and higher trims add leatherette upholstery plus features like the massive moonroof and augmented-reality head-up display. The base setup is more straightforward, so you should compare comfort and convenience equipment carefully if you want the most upscale feel.
• Powertrain: Rear-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is available. The extended-range rear-drive setup uses a 168-kW rear motor with 225 hp and 258 pound-feet of torque, while AWD swaps in a dual-motor system with 320 hp and 446 lb-ft of torque.
• Safety package: Hyundai SmartSense is standard and includes blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, and front- and rear-collision avoidance. Hyundai Highway Drive Assist I is also standard and adds machine-learning adaptive cruise control with stop & go.
• Infotainment: The Ioniq 5 uses dual 12.3-inch screens for the instrument cluster and infotainment, and it includes over-the-air updates, enhanced smartphone pairing, a digital key, and voice recognition.
• Range & charging: The extended-range rear-drive model offers 303 miles of range, while AWD drops to 256 miles. Fast charging can take the battery to 80 percent in 18 minutes, and a full charge took 42 minutes and 52 seconds in testing.
• Battery health: On a used EV, you should ask for battery state-of-health information, review charging history, and confirm whether the car has spent most of its life on home charging or frequent DC fast charging. You should also check how much of the battery warranty remains and make sure the car charges normally at both slower and fast-charging stations.

Which 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 trim should I buy?

The 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 is offered in 3 trim levels: SE, SEL, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the value-focused choice if you want the Ioniq 5’s core strengths without paying for extras. It still gives you the EV’s standout charging tech and standard safety equipment, so it’s the trim to start with if you care most about price and everyday usefulness.
• SEL: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more convenience and capability without jumping all the way to the top. If you want a better-equipped daily driver and can live without the most premium features, this is the sweet spot.
• Limited: This is the one to choose if you want the most upscale version, including the biggest feature set and the available augmented-reality head-up display. It suits you best if you want the most polished Ioniq 5 experience and are willing to pay for it.

Hyundai SmartSense is standard across the lineup, so you’re not forced into a higher trim just to get the core safety suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and pricing movement to reward careful shopping.

• Deal availability: 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 735 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.17% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,665, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5's resale value?

The current average of $22,147 sits slightly below last year's $23,858.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the car more attractive to used buyers today but may also limit short-term upside for a future seller. If you buy at the right price, you’re starting from a more favorable cost basis than someone who bought when prices were higher.

The Ioniq 5’s strong owner satisfaction and broad appeal should help support demand over time, especially among shoppers who want a distinctive EV with strong tech and everyday usability. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 safe?

The 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 has not yet received crash-test ratings from NHTSA or IIHS.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Hyundai SmartSense is standard and includes blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, and front- and rear-collision avoidance. Hyundai Highway Drive Assist I is also standard, bringing machine-learning adaptive cruise control with stop & go.

One caveat is that the available augmented-reality head-up display can be distracting in use, according to the expert evaluation. That doesn’t change the car’s strong safety equipment list, but it is worth considering if you’re sensitive to visual clutter.

Should I buy a 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.17% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 stands out as Hyundai’s debut EV from its new battery-electric-focused sub-brand, with strong tech, standard advanced safety, and mainstream-friendly pricing.

The bottom line: If you want the first-year version of the Ioniq 5’s distinctive design, strong charging tech, and generous standard equipment, the 2022 is a compelling buy. If you’re mainly chasing the newest iteration and can spend more, a later model year may appeal, but price-sensitive buyers should give the 2022 serious consideration because the market has already softened and the value proposition is strong.
