Used 2022 Honda Passport for Sale nearBaton Rouge, LA

How much does the 2022 Honda Passport cost?

Prices have softened 7.20% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,905 listings available, which suggests a decent amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2022 Honda Passport a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Honda Passport earns 5/5 from users and 6.33/10 from experts. The standout strength is Form and function at 10/10.

It stands out as a rugged-leaning two-row midsize SUV with a light restyle and a new TrailSport trim level, and it is aimed at you if you want a comfortable, practical SUV with a tougher look. The Passport is described as fun to drive and comfortable, with plenty of cargo space, which makes it a strong everyday choice with some adventurous character.

The trade-offs are that its infotainment technology is outdated and its advanced safety features are unrefined. 37.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Honda Passport reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Passport is built around a robust and sophisticated drivetrain, and it is described as an appealing SUV with simple utility. Its roomy and comfortable cabin and generous cargo space also support the case for dependable everyday use.

The powertrain is a 3.5-liter V6 paired with a nine-speed automatic, and it is described as smooth and strong. Honda also includes wireless smartphone charging as standard equipment, which adds convenience without much complexity.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the platform and technology are aging, so you should pay close attention to how well the infotainment and driver-assist systems are holding up.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Honda Passport?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully and prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection. Focus on overall condition, especially how the cabin, electronics, and driver-assist features are functioning, since the Passport’s technology is a known weak point.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base EX-L comes with leather seats and plenty of standard equipment, while the TrailSport adds orange contrast stitching, amber ambient lighting, embroidered headrest emblems, rubber all-season floor mats, and a tougher look. The Elite is the most upscale version with all the bells and whistles.
• Powertrain: The Passport uses a 3.5-liter V6 with 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic. FWD is limited to the EX-L, while TrailSport and Elite include AWD standard.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high-beam headlights, a rear-seat reminder, and a seatbelt reminder. The lane-maintenance features are less refined than you may want.
• Infotainment: Every trim gets an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and satellite radio. TrailSport adds navigation, while Elite adds a 10-speaker premium sound system and HondaLink connected services with WiFi hotspot access.
• Fuel efficiency: The Passport is rated at 22 mpg combined with FWD and 21 mpg combined with AWD. The TrailSport test vehicle averaged 21.3 mpg over hundreds of miles.

Which 2022 Honda Passport trim should I buy?

The 2022 Honda Passport is offered in 3 trim levels: EX-L, TrailSport, and Elite.

Here's the short version:

• EX-L: This is the entry point, but it still gives you leather seats and the core Passport experience. It is the only trim with FWD, so it makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and do not need standard AWD.
• TrailSport: This is the best-value trim if you want the Passport’s tougher look and added standard AWD. It also adds navigation and unique styling details, making it the sweet spot for shoppers who want the adventurous vibe without going all the way to the top trim.
• Elite: Choose this if you want the most upscale Passport, with the 10-speaker premium sound system and HondaLink connected services, including a WiFi hotspot.

Honda Sensing is standard across the lineup, but its lane-departure warning and lane-centering assist functions are less refined than you may prefer.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Honda Passport?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 37.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,905 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.20% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 83.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $29,298, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Honda Passport's resale value?

The current average of $29,298 sits slightly below last year's $31,573.

That price movement suggests the Passport has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right price. If you purchase near the lower end of the current range, you may reduce the amount of value left to lose over the next ownership cycle.

The Passport’s strong utility, roomy cabin, and broad appeal should help it remain attractive to used buyers. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Honda Passport safe?

The 2022 Honda Passport earns five-star ratings in all but front passenger protection in a frontal-impact collision, which earns four stars. It also gets a four-star rating for rollover resistance. It earns an Acceptable rating for front-passenger protection in a small overlap collision.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is the standard driver-assistance suite, and it includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high-beam headlights, a rear-seat reminder, and a seatbelt reminder.

The main caveat is that the lane-departure warning and lane-centering assist functions are less refined than you may want, and the IIHS small-overlap result is a weak spot.

Should I buy a 2022 Honda Passport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 37.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.20% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds a light restyle, a new TrailSport trim, revised wheel designs, fresh paint colors, and new safety features.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $24,411, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $29,298 average.
• It carries over largely unchanged while adding some additional features.

The bottom line: If you want the newer styling, TrailSport trim, and updated safety equipment, the 2022 is the better pick. If your priority is saving money and you are comfortable with an older version that still delivers the Passport’s core strengths, the 2021 is the value play.
