The user feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with owners describing it as a vehicle they can count on for everyday use. That lines up with the model’s reputation for reliability and its practical, long-term appeal. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about major surprises and more about making sure the specific example has been maintained well and still feels solid.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Honda HR-V?

At 73.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of body panels, alignment, tires, and interior wear so you can judge whether the car’s condition matches its asking price. Because this model is valued for practicality and everyday usability, you’ll want to focus on signs that the cabin, cargo area, and mechanicals have been cared for consistently.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Honda HR-V?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Inventory: There are 1,741 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.95% compared with last year.

What is the 2022 Honda HR-V's resale value?

The current average of $20,288 sits slightly below last year's $21,123.

That price movement suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, the current softness means resale gains may be more limited in the near term unless demand strengthens. Even so, the HR-V’s practical appeal and broad usefulness should help it stay relevant with shoppers who want an affordable small SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.73/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Honda HR-V or consider a different year?

Choose the 2022 if:

• At 73.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.95% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.73/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $19,244, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $20,288 average.
• It remains practical and comfortable, with agile handling and strong everyday usefulness.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $23,734, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $20,288 average.
• It brings a redesigned, more modern feel with newly standard safety features.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the best all-around choice if you want a balance of price, owner satisfaction, and practical utility. If your priority is spending less, the 2021 is the better value play. If you want a newer-feeling cabin and more standard equipment, the 2023 is worth the extra money.
