What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Honda HR-V?

At 72% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any reported damage was repaired properly. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on body condition, alignment, and signs of uneven wear, since those can reveal past accident effects. It also makes sense to prioritize the transmission and overall drivability so you can judge whether the car feels as clean and consistent as the listing suggests.

That softer pricing suggests the HR-V has become more accessible for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to stay competitive on asking price. If you buy well and keep the vehicle in clean condition, you can help protect your resale position when it’s time to sell. Strong demand for practical, well-liked crossovers can still support value, especially when the car has a good ownership reputation.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Honda HR-V or consider a different year?

• At 72% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.66% compared with last year.
