How much does the 2022 GMC Yukon XL cost?

Prices have softened 12.01% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,447 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing prices and trims.

Is the 2022 GMC Yukon XL a good car?

Yes — the 4.8/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its power, comfort, and large cargo space, and they also like the loaded features and smooth ride. That makes sense if you want a full-size SUV that can handle family duty, towing, or a more rugged use case while still feeling modern. With 36.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2022 GMC Yukon XL reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe it as dependable in everyday use, with praise centered on comfort, power, and a trouble-free-feeling ownership experience for many drivers. The main caution is that some concerns about motor issues were raised, so you should treat condition and maintenance history as especially important on the used market. For long-term ownership, that means a careful pre-purchase check matters more than usual.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 GMC Yukon XL?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a history report and confirm whether the vehicle has had any collision damage, since clean records are a good first filter but not a guarantee. Put inspection priority on the engine and overall mechanical condition, especially because some concerns about motor issues have been raised. You should also focus on how the SUV presents inside and out, since a large family vehicle can rack up wear quickly even when it looks well kept.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 GMC Yukon XL?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,447 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.01% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 82.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $45,319, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 GMC Yukon XL's resale value?

The current average of $45,319 sits slightly below last year's $51,503.

That price drop suggests the model has become more accessible on the used market, which can help you buy at a better entry point today. For a future seller, the softer pricing means resale upside may be more limited than it was a year ago, so condition and mileage will matter even more when it is time to trade or sell. Strong demand for large, well-equipped SUVs should still help support value, especially if your vehicle is clean and well maintained.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 GMC Yukon XL or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.01% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line:

The 2022 is the right pick if you want a large, comfortable SUV with strong owner approval and a market that currently gives you some negotiating room. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on whichever one gives you the best combination of condition, history, and asking price.
