How much does the 2022 GMC Yukon XL cost?

Prices have softened 12.99% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,508 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 GMC Yukon XL a good car?

Yes — the 2022 GMC Yukon XL earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its power, comfort, and large cargo space, and many also like its loaded features and smooth ride. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a full-size SUV for family duty, towing, or a more rugged use case. With 37.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 GMC Yukon XL reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable ownership experience, with praise for comfort, power, and the kind of large-space utility that tends to matter over the long haul. Some concerns were raised about motor issues in one instance, so you should treat condition and maintenance history as especially important on the used market. For you, that means the best long-term ownership outcomes will come from choosing a well-documented example and avoiding trucks with unclear service records.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 GMC Yukon XL?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a history report and confirm whether the vehicle has any accident or title issues before you go any further. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of the engine, drivetrain, and overall mechanical condition, especially if the truck has higher mileage or incomplete service documentation. Because this model has had some motor-related concerns raised by owners, you should focus on signs of smooth operation, consistent maintenance, and any warning lights or unusual noises during a test drive.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 GMC Yukon XL?

This looks like a moderate market where selective buyers can still find value if they shop carefully.

• Deal availability: 37.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,508 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.99% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 82.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $44,522, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 GMC Yukon XL's resale value?

The current average of $44,522 sits slightly below last year's $51,170.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, it also means resale value will depend heavily on how well your vehicle is maintained and how clean its history remains. Strong condition, documented service, and desirable equipment should help you stand out when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 GMC Yukon XL or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 37.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.99% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2022 if you want a large, well-liked SUV with strong owner satisfaction and a softer price than it had a year ago. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-documented example rather than chasing the newest badge alone.
