Why it stands out
The 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E stands out as an electric SUV that blends Mustang branding with a distinctly modern EV personality. It was one of Ford’s first mass-market electric vehicles, and it arrived with the kind of sharp handling and stylish design that helped it make an impression beyond the controversy surrounding its name. It also brought a strong feature set for the class, including standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus Ford’s BlueCruise hands-free highway driving tech, which gave it an early edge in driver-assistance capability.
For 2022 specifically, Ford increased the usable battery capacity and the range. The Mach-E also offered a wide spread of powertrains and battery choices, with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, standard-range or extended-range batteries, and outputs ranging from 266 horsepower to 480 horsepower depending on configuration. Inside, it came with a 15.5-inch vertical infotainment screen, Ford’s Sync 4A operating system, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, and Ford’s Co-Pilot360 safety suite as standard equipment. Those strengths make it appealing to buyers who want an EV that feels well equipped and enjoyable to drive.
There are tradeoffs, though. The 2022 model year is part of the Mach-E’s early run, and the guide notes that the first three model years were beset with consumer complaints and recalls. It also points to the high-voltage battery junction box issue as a major concern for 2021 and 2022 models with the extended-range battery, especially GT trims, where the problem could leave the car immobile. Even so, for shoppers focused on style, technology, and performance, the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E remains a distinctive and compelling used EV.

I just bought a mustang Mach e. This is an awesome car. It's my first Ev so i need to get use to the mileage and 1 pedal breaking. But I'm really glad I made the move to electric. And the mustang Mach e has a real sexy look. It doesn't look like any other cookie cutter suv.

What a great car. Outstanding performance & driveability. It’s great looking … all my coworkers keep asking about it. The tech is very well integrated. While the car comes with Alexa, I find Apples Siri will update me on charge levels. The one negative … 250 miles per charge. I wish it were closer to 300 as so many other cars are. But, I am impressed with the widely available charging network. Ford has done an outstanding job!

How much does the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $27,220 |
| Year-Round Low | $25,219.22 |
| Year-Round High | $28,939.87 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $28,939 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −5.94% |
Prices have softened 5.94% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 2,151 listings available, which suggests you have a workable amount of inventory to compare.
If you find a listing below $25,219.22, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E a good car?
Generally — the 4.3/5 user rating points to a well-liked used EV. Owners consistently praise its outstanding performance, smooth driving experience, and stylish design, and many also value the tech features and charging-network convenience. For you, that means this model fits especially well if you want an electric SUV that feels engaging to drive and well equipped for daily use. With 33.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E reliable?
Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback also points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with praise for smooth driving and a generally trouble-free feel in everyday use. That said, the early-run nature of this model year means you should pay close attention to maintenance history and any prior repairs before you commit. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about routine wear and more about making sure a specific car has been cared for properly.
What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E?
Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
You should still run a history report and verify that the car’s records match the seller’s claims. Put inspection priority on battery-related systems, charging behavior, and any warning lights or software quirks you can confirm during a test drive. Because this is an early model-year EV, condition and documentation matter more than usual.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on strong examples.
- Deal availability: 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 2,151 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.94% compared with last year.

What is the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E's resale value?
The current average of $27,220 sits slightly below last year's $28,939.
That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy with less near-term depreciation risk than when prices were higher. If you plan to sell later, the current softness means your best protection is buying well and choosing a clean, well-documented example. Strong demand for this model’s style-and-tech mix should help support interest, but condition will matter a lot at resale.
Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2022 if:
- 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.94% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2021 if:
- At $23,812, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $27,220 average.
- It introduced Ford’s first mass-market electric SUV with a more serious EV identity.
Consider the 2023 if:
- At $31,153, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $27,220 average.
- It adds enhanced BlueCruise and updated range-focused trims.
The bottom line: The 2022 is the best all-around path if you want a strong mix of price, owner satisfaction, and current-market availability. If your priority is saving money, the 2021 is the better value play, while the 2023 makes sense if you want to pay more for newer updates and a fresher feature set.
