Some rivals, such as the Mazda CX-9, offer a more engaging driving experience, but the Ford is reasonably engaging and plenty quick. The Edge offers seating for five people in two rows. Ford’s Sync infotainment system offers an intuitive and responsive way to interact with the vehicle, and it doesn’t take more than a tap or two to accomplish most tasks. The 2022 Ford Edge earned a Top Safety Pick from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), which included “Good” scores in all crash test categories. The SUV’s headlights earned an “Acceptable” or “Poor” score, depending on the configuration. Vehicle-to-vehicle crash-prevention systems got “Superior” scores, while vehicle-to-pedestrian crash-prevention earned an “Advanced” rating.
