Why it stands out
The 2022 Ford Bronco stands out because it delivers serious off-road ability without giving up everyday drivability. Ford’s broad Bronco lineup also gives buyers a wide range of choices, so there’s likely a version for many skill levels and budgets. That flexibility, combined with its strong reputation, helps explain why the Bronco drew so much attention.
What makes the 2022 Ford Bronco especially appealing is that it pairs incredible off-road capability with a better on-road experience than the Jeep Wrangler. It also offers multiple body styles and plenty of cargo space, which adds to its usefulness beyond trail duty. The tradeoff is that advanced safety features are not standard and its safety scores are middling, so shoppers who prioritize those areas may find the Bronco less compelling on value alone.

Definitely over priced!! Kind of generic plastic inside. The 4 cylinder turbo is under powered- definitely find a v6 turbo. Rides smoothly. Very weak sound system .. don’t know how Bang and Olufsem sounds. Manual seats are pretty annoying. Hard top was $5k n totally plastic. It’s cool to own a Bronco but for the money , you should get a loaded Wrangler. It is way better priced and way better options - but …. They are 20 to 1 on the road wranglers to Broncos

I’ve owned two Jeep Wranglers and the Bronco puts them to shame. Excellent ride, steering, suspension and handling. The vehicle is comfortable, roomy and a much better vehicle for daily driving versus the Wrangler. The soft top is quick and simple to lower and appears to be of good quality and the visibility is excellent through all windows thanks to the frameless doors that are a breeze to remove. This is the best vehicle I’ve ever owned!

How much does the 2022 Ford Bronco cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $37,102 |
| Year-Round Low | $37,102 |
| Year-Round High | $40,866 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $40,869 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −9.22% |
Prices have softened 9.22% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 4,435 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.
Is the 2022 Ford Bronco a good car?
Yes — owners rate it 4.5/5, and the expert rating is 8/10. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Form and function.
Owners consistently praise its off-road capability, performance, stylish design, comfort, tech features, and spaciousness. The main trade-offs are that some shoppers feel it is overpriced and that too many essential features are optional.
That lines up with the Bronco’s use case as a rugged SUV that still works for everyday driving, especially if you want something more pavement-friendly than a Wrangler. Good and great deals account for 35.9% of listings, so there is still some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2022 Ford Bronco reliable?
Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback points to a vehicle people feel good about living with, especially because it is described as dependable in the context of its performance, comfort, and overall ownership experience. The expert notes also emphasize that it behaves well on pavement and is built to handle demanding terrain without losing its composure.
For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about basic durability and more about whether the specific truck you’re considering has the equipment and condition you want.
What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Ford Bronco?
Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the Bronco has seen trail use or heavy modification. Focus on body condition, underbody wear, and whether the equipment on the truck matches the trim and package level you expect.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The lineup spans seven distinct trims, with off-road capability increasing as you move up. Base models are more stripped down, while higher trims add more specialized hardware and features.
- Powertrain: You can choose between a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder and an optional turbocharged 2.7-liter V6. The four-cylinder can be paired with a seven-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic, while the V6 uses the automatic.
- Safety package: Frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, lane-keep assist, rear parking sensors, and automatic high beams are available on all but the base trim as part of the optional Mid package. Front parking sensors and a surround-view camera system are offered with the High package, while the Luxe package adds adaptive cruise control and evasive steering assist.
- Infotainment: The Sync 4 system has quick responses and sharp graphics, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. A wireless charging pad is also available.
- Fuel efficiency: The two-door with the base four-cylinder is estimated at 20 mpg city, 21 mpg highway, and 20 mpg combined. The V6 ranges between 19 mpg combined and as low as 17 mpg combined with the Badlands or Sasquatch package.
Which 2022 Ford Bronco trim should I buy?
The 2022 Ford Bronco is offered in 7 trim levels: Base, Big Bend, Black Diamond, Outer Banks, Badlands, Wildtrak, and Everglades.
Here's the short version:
- Base: This is the entry point if you want the Bronco’s core off-road hardware at the lowest starting price, but you should expect the fewest standard comfort and safety features.
- Big Bend: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more everyday usability without moving too far up the price ladder.
- Black Diamond: Choose this if you want a more trail-focused setup than the lower trims, with a stronger emphasis on rugged use.
- Outer Banks: This trim leans more toward comfort and style while still keeping the Bronco’s core capability intact.
- Badlands: This is the right pick if you want a more serious off-road setup and are willing to pay for it.
- Wildtrak: This trim is aimed at shoppers who want one of the most capable Bronco setups without stepping all the way to the top.
- Everglades: This is the most specialized trim, with swamp- and water-focused hardware including an intake snorkel, a Warn winch, and 35-inch mud-terrain tires.
The safety-package trims matter here: the Mid package is not available on the base trim, while the High and Luxe packages add more advanced driver-assistance features as you move up.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Ford Bronco?
This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find value.
- Deal availability: 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 4,435 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 9.22% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 90.6% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $37,102, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2022 Ford Bronco's resale value?
The current average of $37,102 sits slightly below last year's $40,869.
That price movement suggests the Bronco has cooled from its earlier peak, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the current market shows that pricing power is not as strong as it was a year ago, so condition and equipment will matter more when it is time to list.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2022 Ford Bronco safe?
The 2022 Ford Bronco earns Good ratings from IIHS in frontal, side, and roof strength tests, and Acceptable in head restraints and seats. The four-door model has four-star ratings for frontal crash protection from NHTSA, and both the four- and two-door Broncos have three-star rollover ratings.
It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.
Standard safety features include hill-start assist, hill descent control, and trailer sway control. Frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alerts, lane-keep assist, rear parking sensors, and automatic high beams are available on all but the base trim as part of the optional Mid package. Front parking sensors and a surround-view camera system are offered with the High package, while the Luxe package adds adaptive cruise control and evasive steering assist.
The main caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard, so you need to pay attention to trim and package content if safety tech matters to you.
Should I buy a 2022 Ford Bronco or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2022 if:
- 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 9.22% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2022 adds the Everglades and expands the lineup to seven trims.
Consider the 2021 if:
- At $35,884, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $37,102 average.
- It launched the modern Bronco with a clear off-road focus and strong trail credentials.
Consider the 2023 if:
- At $40,901, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $37,102 average.
- It broadens the lineup to nine models and adds even more configuration choice.
The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, inventory, and feature breadth, the 2022 is the sweet spot. If your priority is saving money, the 2021 is the better value play. If you want more model variety and are willing to pay more, the 2023 is the stronger upgrade path.
