overall

Summary
With 4,025 currently listed for sale and an average price of $37,875, 32.8% of 2022 Ford Broncos for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2022 Ford Bronco 4.5 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it an 8 / 10.
90.1% of 2022 Bronco models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2022 Ford Bronco stands out because it delivers serious off-road ability without giving up everyday drivability. Ford’s deep roster of Bronco models means there’s one for almost any skill level and a wide range of budgets, and the Bronco is described as being as off-road capable as the Jeep Wrangler while being significantly better to drive on pavement. That combination makes it appealing to buyers who want a rugged SUV that can still feel manageable on the road.
It also brings practical strengths that broaden its appeal, including multiple body styles and plenty of cargo space. At the same time, it is not without drawbacks: advanced safety features are not standard, and its safety scores are middling. The Bronco’s popularity is another part of its story, since it was already sold out for 2022.

Definitely over priced!! Kind of generic plastic inside. The 4 cylinder turbo is under powered- definitely find a v6 turbo. Rides smoothly. Very weak sound system .. don’t know how Bang and Olufsem sounds. Manual seats are pretty annoying. Hard top was $5k n totally plastic. It’s cool to own a Bronco but for the money , you should get a loaded Wrangler. It is way better priced and way better options - but …. They are 20 to 1 on the road wranglers to Broncos

I’ve owned two Jeep Wranglers and the Bronco puts them to shame. Excellent ride, steering, suspension and handling. The vehicle is comfortable, roomy and a much better vehicle for daily driving versus the Wrangler. The soft top is quick and simple to lower and appears to be of good quality and the visibility is excellent through all windows thanks to the frameless doors that are a breeze to remove. This is the best vehicle I’ve ever owned!

How much does the 2022 Ford Bronco cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $37,821 |
| Year-Round Low | $37,821 |
| Year-Round High | $41,532 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $41,529 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −8.93% |
Prices have softened 8.93% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 4,041 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.
Is the 2022 Ford Bronco a good car?
Yes — you’re looking at a model with a 4.5/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Form and function.
Owners consistently praise its off-road capability, stylish design, comfort, tech features, and spaciousness. The trade-offs are that it can feel overpriced and too many essential features are optional. For you, that means the Bronco makes the most sense if you want a rugged SUV with strong everyday usability and you’re comfortable paying for the equipment you want. The market still shows 32.7% good or great deals, so there are opportunities if you shop carefully.
Is the 2022 Ford Bronco reliable?
Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
User feedback points to a vehicle that owners trust for its capability, comfort, and overall appeal, with many describing it as a model they enjoy living with over time. The expert drive notes also emphasize that the Bronco’s systems work as advertised, with no false alarms or glitches. Ford’s first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house, which helps early ownership costs. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic dependability and more about finding a well-kept example with the right equipment and condition.
What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Ford Bronco?
Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the Bronco has seen trail use. Focus on signs of wear from off-road driving, including underbody damage, suspension wear, and interior condition. It’s also worth checking that the equipment you want is actually present, since many desirable features were optional.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The lineup spans a wide range of capability and equipment, with off-road capability increasing as price rises. Base models are more utilitarian, while higher trims add more specialized hardware and features.
- Powertrain: You can choose between a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder with 300 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque, or an optional turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 with 330 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque. The four-cylinder can be paired with a seven-speed manual or 10-speed automatic, while the V6 uses the automatic.
- Safety package: Standard safety features include hill-start assist, hill descent control, and trailer sway control. Frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, lane-keep assist, rear parking sensors, and automatic high beams are available on all but the base trim as part of the optional Mid package. Front parking sensors and a surround-view camera system are offered with the High package, while the Luxe package adds adaptive cruise control and evasive steering assist.
- Infotainment: The Bronco uses Sync 4 with quick responses and sharp graphics. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and the system is paired with helpful off-road apps.
- Fuel efficiency: The two-door with the base four-cylinder is estimated at 20 mpg city, 21 mpg highway, and 20 mpg combined. The V6 ranges as low as 17 mpg combined depending on trim and package.
Which 2022 Ford Bronco trim should I buy?
The 2022 Ford Bronco is offered in 7 trim levels: Base, Big Bend, Black Diamond, Outer Banks, Badlands, Wildtrak, and Everglades.
Here's the short version:
- Base: This is the entry point if you want the Bronco’s core off-road hardware and the lowest starting price, but you’ll want to budget for options if you care about more advanced safety or convenience features.
- Big Bend: This is a smart step up if you want a more balanced Bronco experience without jumping too far in price.
- Black Diamond: This trim leans more toward rugged use and is a good fit if you want extra trail-minded capability.
- Outer Banks: This is the better choice if you want a more polished Bronco with a stronger emphasis on everyday comfort and style.
- Badlands: This is the best-value trim for serious off-road shoppers who want more capability without going all the way to the top of the range.
- Wildtrak: This is the pick if you want a more highly equipped, more capable Bronco and are willing to pay for it.
- Everglades: This is the most specialized choice, with swamp- and water-focused hardware including an intake snorkel, a Warn winch, and 35-inch mud-terrain tires.
The safety package is not standard on the base trim, so if advanced driver-assistance features matter to you, plan your trim choice accordingly.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Ford Bronco?
This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it rewards comparison shopping more than impulse buying.
- Deal availability: 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 4,041 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 8.93% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 90.4% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $37,821, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2022 Ford Bronco's resale value?
The current average of $37,821 sits slightly below last year's $41,529.
That price movement suggests the Bronco has cooled from its earlier peak, which can help you as a buyer today but may temper short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the current market shows that pricing discipline matters, especially if your Bronco is not especially well equipped or exceptionally clean. Strong condition, desirable equipment, and a clean history should help you stand out when it’s time to list.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2022 Ford Bronco safe?
The 2022 Ford Bronco earns Good ratings from IIHS in frontal, side, and roof strength tests, and Acceptable ratings for head restraints and seats. It earns four-star ratings for frontal crash protection on the four-door and three-star ratings for rollover protection on both the four- and two-door Broncos.
It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.
Standard safety features include hill-start assist, hill descent control, and trailer sway control. The fact that advanced safety features are not standard is the main caveat to keep in mind.
Should I buy a 2022 Ford Bronco or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2022 if:
- 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 8.93% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2022 adds the Everglades and keeps the Bronco’s broad trim range and strong pavement manners.
Consider the 2021 if:
- At $36,921, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $37,821 average.
- It focuses on capability, style, and everyday usability with a purpose-built off-road identity.
Consider the 2023 if:
- At $41,821, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $37,821 average.
- It expands the lineup to nine models and broadens configuration choices.
The bottom line: you should buy the 2022 if you want the best mix of current-year pricing, strong owner satisfaction, and broad trim choice. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the 2021 is the better value play; if you want more configuration flexibility and don’t mind paying more, the 2023 is the upgrade path.
