How much does the 2022 Ford Bronco cost?

Prices have softened 9.25% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,471 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Ford Bronco a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Ford Bronco earns a 4.5/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Form and function.

Owners consistently praise its off-road capability, performance, comfort, tech features, and spaciousness. The Bronco’s broad lineup and multiple body styles also make it appealing if you want something that can fit different budgets and use cases.

The main trade-offs are that some owners feel it is overpriced and that too many essential features are optional. In practice, that means you should weigh the Bronco’s strong capability and versatility against how much equipment you need to add to get the version you want.

The market still shows healthy interest, with 32.4% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2022 Ford Bronco reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a vehicle people expect to be dependable over time, especially when it comes to performance, comfort, and the ability to handle regular use without losing its appeal. The Bronco’s strong reputation and enthusiastic owner base also suggest it’s a model many buyers feel confident keeping for the long haul.

The expert review also emphasizes that the Bronco is built to do serious work while still remaining usable on pavement, which supports the case for everyday dependability. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is paying too much for a truck that may need optional equipment to match your expectations.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Ford Bronco?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify whether the Bronco has been used hard off-road, since that can affect wear even when the exterior looks clean. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on suspension, underbody components, tires, and any signs of trail damage or water exposure. It also makes sense to check that the equipment on the truck matches the trim and package level you expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup spans a very deep range of trims, with off-road capability increasing as price rises. Base versions are more stripped down, while higher trims add more comfort, convenience, and capability equipment.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a four-cylinder and a six-cylinder engine, and the Bronco also offers manual or automatic transmission choices depending on configuration. The lineup is built around four-wheel drive and an electronic two-speed transfer case.
• Safety package: Standard safety equipment includes hill-start assist, hill descent control, and trailer sway control. Additional driver-assistance features are bundled into optional packages, and some of those features are not standard on the base trim.
• Infotainment: The Bronco uses Sync 4 with quick responses and sharp graphics. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and the system is paired with helpful off-road apps.
• Fuel efficiency: The base four-cylinder is estimated at 20 mpg city and 21 mpg highway, while the V6 can drop as low as 17 mpg combined depending on configuration.

Which 2022 Ford Bronco trim should I buy?

The 2022 Ford Bronco is offered in 7 trim levels: Base, Big Bend, Black Diamond, Outer Banks, Badlands, Wildtrak, and Everglades.

Here's the short version:

• Base: This is the entry point if you want the Bronco’s core off-road hardware and don’t mind a more stripped-down setup. It makes the most sense if you care more about capability than comfort features.
• Big Bend: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds more everyday usability without pushing too far up the price ladder. It’s a smart middle ground if you want a Bronco that feels less bare-bones.
• Black Diamond: Choose this if you want a stronger off-road focus and are willing to pay for more trail-oriented equipment. It suits buyers who expect to use the Bronco beyond casual driving.
• Outer Banks: This trim leans more toward comfort and style while still keeping the Bronco’s rugged character. It’s a good fit if you want a more polished daily driver.
• Badlands: This is the pick for shoppers who want serious off-road capability and are willing to spend more for it. It’s the right choice if trail performance matters more than price.
• Wildtrak: This trim is aimed at buyers who want one of the most capable Broncos without stepping all the way to the top. It’s a strong choice if you want a high-spec off-road setup.
• Everglades: This is the most specialized trim in the lineup, with swamp and water-focused hardware that includes an intake snorkel, a Warn winch, and 35-inch mud-terrain tires. It’s best if you want maximum off-road hardware and don’t mind paying for it.

The safety package is not standard on the base trim, so if driver-assistance features matter to you, make sure the truck you’re considering includes the right package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Ford Bronco?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully but still enough demand to reward quick action on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,471 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.25% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $37,072, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Ford Bronco's resale value?

The current average of $37,072 sits slightly below last year's $40,852.

That price movement suggests the Bronco has cooled from its earlier peak, which can help you as a buyer but may limit upside if you’re planning to resell soon. If you buy at the right price and keep the truck in clean condition, you should be better positioned than someone who paid closer to the prior-year average.

The Bronco’s strong demand and broad appeal should help support future resale interest, especially for well-equipped examples. But because prices have already softened, future sellers may need to be realistic about how much value they can recover.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Ford Bronco safe?

The 2022 Ford Bronco earns Good ratings from IIHS in frontal, side, and roof strength tests, and a four-star rating for frontal crash protection from NHTSA. It also earns three-star ratings for rollover protection.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety features include hill-start assist, hill descent control, and trailer sway control. Frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alerts, lane-keep assist, rear parking sensors, and automatic high beams are available on all but the base trim as part of the optional Mid package. Front parking sensors and a surround-view camera system are offered with the High package, while the Luxe package adds adaptive cruise control and evasive steering assist.

The main caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard, so you may need to move up from the base trim or add packages to get the equipment you want.

Should I buy a 2022 Ford Bronco or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.25% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It pairs serious off-road ability with better on-road manners than the Wrangler.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $35,870, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $37,072 average.
• It launched the Bronco’s modern return with a clear trail-focused mission.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $40,854, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $37,072 average.
• It broadens the lineup with even more model variety and strong all-around appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, availability, and satisfaction, the 2022 is the safer default. If you’re shopping strictly on price, the 2021 is the better value play. If you want a newer-year alternative and can spend more, the 2023 is the upgrade path.
