Used 2022 Dodge Charger for Sale nearMount Clemens, MI

How much does the 2022 Dodge Charger cost?

Prices are up 7.05% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 4,424 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2022 Dodge Charger a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 4.58/5 user-rated car with an 8.00/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 10/10.

Drivers consistently praise the Charger’s powerful performance, spacious interior, and enjoyable handling. The user feedback also points to strong appeal for the Scat Pack variant, which is especially well liked for its acceleration and engine power.

On the downside, the expert review calls out poor fuel economy, an aging interior, and a low-quality backup camera. That trade-off fits the Charger’s role as a performance-first sedan: it works best if you want a traditional muscle-car feel with real-world space and everyday usability, not a modern luxury cabin.

Only 29.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so you may need to shop carefully to find the best value.

Is the 2022 Dodge Charger reliable?

Owners rate it 4.58/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback also suggests the Charger can be a dependable long-term choice if you value strong performance and a roomy cabin. The expert review reinforces that it’s built around a familiar, proven formula, and it emphasizes the car’s straightforward, easy-to-use technology.

The Charger’s ownership risk is less about mechanical complexity than about age-related compromises, so you should pay close attention to condition, maintenance history, and how the car has been used.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Dodge Charger?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 75% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on every candidate, even if the listing looks clean. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on higher-performance versions, and focus on signs of wear in the cabin, brakes, tires, and electronics. Because this car’s appeal depends heavily on condition, a well-kept example is much more important than a lightly cheaper one.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SXT comes with a V6, power-adjustable front seats, rear parking sensors, cloth upholstery, a six-speaker stereo, and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The GT adds a rear spoiler, sport-tuned suspension, performance tires, an Alpine premium stereo, navigation, and an 8.4-inch touchscreen. The R/T brings V8 power, while the R/T Scat Pack adds a larger V8, launch control, a high-performance suspension, a limited-slip rear differential, Brembo brakes, a heated steering wheel, and driver’s seat memory. The Hellcat adds supercharged V8 power, SRT-tuned suspension, upgraded Brembo brakes, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, Laguna leather upholstery, and heated-and-ventilated front seats. The Redeye and Jailbreak push output even further. The best-value trim is the R/T Scat Pack if you want serious performance without jumping to the highest-priced models.
• Powertrain: The lineup starts with a 3.6-liter V6, then moves to a 5.7-liter Hemi V8, a 6.4-liter Hemi V8, and supercharged 6.2-liter V8s in the Hellcat, Redeye, and Jailbreak. Rear-wheel drive is standard, and the V6 models are also available with all-wheel drive. The V6 is the efficiency play, while the V8s are for buyers who want stronger acceleration and a more traditional muscle-car character.
• Safety package: Standard equipment is limited to a backup camera and rear parking sensors. Available driver-assistance features include forward-collision avoidance, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, rain-sensing wipers, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Some of these features are not standard on lower trims, so check carefully before you buy.
• Infotainment: The base setup uses a 7-inch Uconnect touchscreen, while an 8.4-inch version is optional on the SXT and standard on the rest of the lineup. Both systems include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the larger screen is easier to use thanks to bigger icons.
• Fuel efficiency: The V6 with rear-wheel drive returns 19 mpg city, 30 mpg highway, and 23 mpg combined. With all-wheel drive, it returns 18 mpg city, 27 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined. The 5.7-liter V8 returns 16 mpg city, 25 mpg highway, and 19 mpg combined. The 6.4-liter V8 returns 15 mpg city, 24 mpg highway, and 18 mpg combined. The Redeye and Jailbreak return 12 mpg city, 21 mpg highway, and 15 mpg combined.

Which 2022 Dodge Charger trim should I buy?

The 2022 Dodge Charger is offered in 7 trim levels: SXT, GT, R/T, R/T Scat Pack, Hellcat, Redeye, and Jailbreak.

Here's the short version:

• SXT: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Charger’s core formula with the V6, the 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, rear parking sensors, and power-adjustable front seats. It makes sense if you want the least expensive way into the lineup and care more about the car’s size and style than maximum performance.
• GT: The GT adds a slight bump in V6 output, plus a rear spoiler, sport-tuned suspension, performance tires, navigation, an Alpine premium stereo, and the larger 8.4-inch touchscreen. It’s the better pick if you want a more polished daily driver without stepping into V8 territory.
• R/T: The R/T is the first V8 model, and that alone makes it the key step up for many shoppers. It keeps much of the GT’s equipment while adding the 5.7-liter V8, so it’s the trim to target if you want the classic Charger experience with a meaningful performance jump.
• R/T Scat Pack: This is the sweet spot for enthusiasts. You get the 6.4-liter V8, launch control, a high-performance suspension, a limited-slip rear differential, Brembo brakes, a heated steering wheel, and driver’s seat memory. It’s the best-value performance trim if you want serious speed without paying Hellcat money.
• Hellcat: The Hellcat brings the supercharged 6.2-liter V8, SRT-tuned suspension, upgraded Brembo brakes, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, Laguna leather upholstery, and heated-and-ventilated front seats. Choose it if you want the full muscle-car spectacle and can live with the higher running costs.
• Redeye: The Redeye turns the Hellcat formula up another notch with even more power and improved engine cooling. It’s for buyers who want maximum straight-line performance and are willing to pay for it.
• Jailbreak: The Jailbreak is the most extreme version, with the supercharged V8 tuned even hotter. It’s the top choice if you want the most powerful Charger in this lineup and price is secondary.

The safety package is limited on lower trims, so if driver-assistance features matter to you, make sure the specific car you’re considering has the options you want.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Dodge Charger?

You should act selectively, because this is still a seller’s market and the best examples won’t sit long.

• Deal availability: 29.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,424 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 7.05% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 75.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $26,768, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Dodge Charger’s resale value?

The current average of $29,035 sits slightly above last year's $27,123.

That upward move suggests the Charger is holding buyer interest well, which can help support resale value if you buy carefully and keep the car in good condition. The market is also showing a fairly tight year-round range, so clean examples with desirable trims should remain easier to move later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.58/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Dodge Charger safe?

The Charger offers only a backup camera and rear parking sensors as standard equipment, and that backup camera shows as a grainy, pixelated image on the center screen.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

You can add forward-collision avoidance, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, rain-sensing wipers, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert, but many of those features are optional rather than standard. That means you should check the exact build sheet carefully, especially if you want modern driver assistance on a lower trim.

Should I buy a 2022 Dodge Charger or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 29.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 75% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 7.05% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.58/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The expert review highlights the Widebody’s surprising cornering ability and the car’s easy-to-use technology.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $26,538, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $29,035 average.
• It offers budget-friendly horsepower and a roomy cabin with broad everyday usability.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $35,137, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $29,035 average.
• It serves as a final-year sendoff with a bold, memorable personality and limited-edition appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, performance, and availability, the 2022 is the strongest all-around pick. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2021 can save you money while keeping much of the same core appeal. If you want the last-year mystique and don’t mind paying more, the 2023 is the emotional buy.
