Used 2022 Chevrolet Trax for Sale near New Jersey

How much does the 2022 Chevrolet Trax cost?

Prices have softened 13.57% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 620 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Trax a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Chevrolet Trax earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. The overview frames it as a compact, budget-friendly subcompact SUV that emphasizes maneuverability, affordability, and a higher seating position, so it fits you well if you want straightforward daily usability rather than extra power or upscale features. It also highlights smartphone integration and a practical layout, which supports its appeal as an easy-to-live-with small SUV. 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Trax reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview suggests the Trax’s reliability story is tied more to simple, familiar ownership than to standout engineering or premium hardware. It also notes that the first generation had sparse safety features early on and that depreciation has been faster than some rivals, which matters if you plan to keep it for a while. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is less about complexity and more about making sure the specific vehicle has been maintained well and priced appropriately.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Chevrolet Trax?

At 71.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if the listing has any accident or repair history. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and signs of wear that could affect daily usability, since this model’s value is strongest when it’s clean, straightforward, and well kept.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Chevrolet Trax?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.57% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 71.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,699, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Chevrolet Trax's resale value?

The current average of $15,699 sits slightly below last year's $18,164.

That decline suggests the Trax has moved into a more buyer-friendly pricing zone, which can help you on the purchase side but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price, you may reduce your exposure to further depreciation. For a future seller, the key will be keeping the vehicle in strong condition and pricing it competitively against the market.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Chevrolet Trax or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 71.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.57% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $12,952, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $15,699 average.
• It offers easy-to-use technology and a maneuverable footprint.

The bottom line: If you want the better-balanced shopping environment, the 2022 is the stronger primary pick because it combines a lower current market price, decent deal availability, and strong owner satisfaction. If your main goal is minimizing upfront cost, the 2021 is the better secondary path, especially if you can accept its more basic value proposition.
