About 2022 Chevrolet Spark
The Chevrolet Spark is a thrifty subcompact hatchback, aimed at competitors like the Kia Rio and Mitsubishi Mirage. There are no noteworthy changes for 2022. Chevrolet equips every Spark with a 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine that sends 98 horsepower and 94 pound-feet of torque to the front wheels. A five-speed manual transmission comes standard, but a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) is also available. Living up to its mission of thriftiness, the Spark has EPA-rated fuel economy of 29 mpg city, 38 mpg highway, and 33 mpg combined with the manual transmission and 30 mpg city, 38 mpg highway, and 33 mpg combined with the CVT. The Spark’s base LS trim comes standard with 15-inch steel wheels and wheel covers, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, 4G LTE WiFi hotspot capability, air conditioning, and a 60/40 split-folding rear seat. The LT trim comes with 15-inch alloy wheels, power windows, power locks, keyless entry, cruise control, steering-wheel-mounted audio controls, a 6-speaker audio system, satellite radio, powered and heated exterior mirrors, LED daytime running lights, and an alarm system. The 2LT trim gets you leatherette upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with silver accents, keyless access and start, heated front seats, an upgraded instrument cluster, and chrome exterior appointments. Finally, the Spark Activ adds a rugged body kit, unique 15-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, a unique front grille, fog lights, and door sill plate covers. Safety-wise, the only standard feature is a rearview camera. That said, rear parking sensors are standard on 2LT and above trims ,and the available Driver Confidence Package gets you automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and forward-collision alert. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) hasn’t evaluated the current-generation Spark. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave the 2021 model top “Good” marks in moderate overlap front and side crash tests, but the organization has not yet published a full set of test results.
