Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction for this heavy-duty truck. The 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD stands out as a true workhorse with serious towing and hauling capability, plus a wide range of configurations that let you tailor it to work or everyday use. Is the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD reliable?

The 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD is built around heavy-duty capability, and its broad configuration range and available towing-focused technology support that mission. The cabin is more utility-first than plush, but the truck’s equipment list still gives you the basics and useful convenience features you’d expect in a modern work truck. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about complexity and more about making sure a hard-used truck has been maintained properly.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, especially on a truck that may have been used for towing or hauling. Then focus your inspection on overall condition, including signs of heavy-duty wear, because capability-focused trucks can hide hard use better than lighter-duty vehicles. Pay close attention to how the truck presents mechanically and cosmetically so you can separate a well-kept example from one that has been worked hard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 979 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.19% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 83.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $49,664, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD's resale value?

The current average of $49,724 sits slightly below last year's $54,756.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also mean slower appreciation if you plan to sell later. For a future seller, the key is to preserve condition and documentation so your truck stands out in a market where buyers have choices. Well-kept examples should still draw interest because heavy-duty trucks remain utility-focused purchases.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.19% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $47,103, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $49,724 average.
• It offers broad everyday usability alongside heavy-duty capability.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger overall market position and are comfortable paying a bit more, the 2022 is the better primary target. If your priority is saving money up front, the 2021 is the smarter secondary path, especially if you find one in excellent condition.
