The owner feedback also points to a truck that feels dependable in daily use, with praise for its powerful performance and smooth ride. That kind of response suggests you can count on it for serious work and regular ownership without feeling like you are giving up comfort. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is paying more than you need to for a truck that should still be checked closely for condition and maintenance history.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 81% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with the history report so you can confirm accident status, title history, and prior use. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of the truck’s condition, especially if it has been used for towing or heavy work. Focus on signs of wear that could affect long-term ownership, since a heavy-duty truck can look clean on the surface while still carrying hard-use wear underneath.

What is the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $43,491 sits slightly below last year's $46,913.

That price movement suggests the truck has softened enough to create a better entry point for you now, but it also means future resale will depend heavily on how well the truck is maintained and equipped. If you buy at the right price and keep it in strong condition, you reduce the chance of taking an outsized depreciation hit later. Trucks with broad appeal and strong owner satisfaction tend to hold buyer interest better when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 81% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.29% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $39,952, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $43,491 average.
• It offers more configuration flexibility for buyers who want broader setup choices.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2022 if you want the stronger current-market mix of owner satisfaction, inventory depth, and softened pricing. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2021 is the better value play, especially if you are comfortable giving up some of the 2022's newer-feeling cabin and equipment advantages.
