Overview

The Chevrolet Express Cargo is a full-size commercial van. It got a new optional engine for the 2021 model year, so there are no changes for 2022.
Hardware-wise, Chevrolet lets you pick between half-ton (2500) and three-quarter-ton (3500) variants. Each of these is offered with both a Standard and an Extended wheelbase.
From there, you have three powertrain choices. The base offering is a 4.3-liter V6 making 276 horsepower and 298 pound-feet of torque, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. There’s also a turbocharged 2.8-liter inline-four diesel that’s good for 181 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque, with the same eight-speed automatic. The top option is a 6.6-liter V8 worth 401 hp and 464 lb-ft of torque, which has its own six-speed heavy-duty transmission. The Express Cargo supports a maximum trailering weight of 10,000 pounds and a maximum payload of 4,280 pounds. All Express vans are rear-wheel drive (RWD).
The Express Cargo comes in just a single WT trim, but that gets you power windows, power door locks, an AM/FM stereo with MP3 capability, 4G LTE hotspot capability, and air conditioning. A tilt wheel, cruise control, heated and power-adjusted mirrors, keyless entry, remote start, and leather-wrapped steering wheel are all optional.
Every Express comes standard with a rearview camera. From there, you can tack on rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, and forward-collision warning.
