Used 2022 Chevrolet Equinox for Sale nearLexington, KY

How much does the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox cost?

Prices have softened 12.19% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 6,883 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox earns a 4.78/5 user rating and a 6.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 8/10.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, fuel efficiency, and spaciousness, and they also highlight the smooth ride and modern features. In use-case terms, that makes it a sensible fit if you want a comfortable, straightforward small SUV with easy-to-live-with tech and good value. The main trade-offs are its fairly pedestrian performance and the irritating transmission, along with limited cargo space. Even so, 35.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which keeps the market attractive for shoppers who value practicality over excitement.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox reliable?

Owners rate it 4.78/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with praise for comfort, fuel efficiency, and overall value. The expert review also describes it as easy to live with and straightforward to own, which supports the idea that it should be a low-drama used purchase if you choose a well-kept example. Chevy’s three-year, 36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty and five-year, 60,000-mile powertrain coverage also help reduce early ownership risk. For used buyers, the main long-term concern is less about a known durability disaster and more about buying one that has been maintained properly and hasn’t been worn down by heavy use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Chevrolet Equinox?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on every candidate, even if the listing looks clean at first glance. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the transmission behavior, interior wear, and cargo-area condition, since those are the areas most likely to affect day-to-day satisfaction. Focus on whether the features you want are actually present, because equipment varies by trim and some desirable tech is not standard across the lineup.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The RS adds black exterior trim, darkened 19-inch wheels, a black interior with red stitching, and a model-specific shift knob, while the base trims are more conventional and most trims get cloth seats as standard equipment. If you want the best-value blend of style and equipment, the RS is the standout choice.
• Powertrain: You get a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 170 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and standard front-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive. It has useful low-end torque for city driving, but it is not especially strong at higher speeds.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian braking, forward collision warning, following distance indicator, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, a Safety Alert Seat, and Teen Driver. Adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-change alert, and a surround-view camera system are optional, and some rivals make more of this tech standard.
• Infotainment: Standard equipment includes a 7-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a built-in 4G LTE WiFi hotspot. Higher trims get an 8-inch touchscreen and a 4.2-inch instrument-cluster screen, and navigation plus a Bose 7-speaker audio system are available.
• Fuel efficiency: The Equinox returns 28 mpg combined with front-wheel drive, with 26 mpg city and 31 mpg highway. All-wheel-drive models lose 1 mpg in each category.

Which 2022 Chevrolet Equinox trim should I buy?

The 2022 Chevrolet Equinox is offered in 3 trim levels: LS, LT, Premier.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the Equinox lineup and are comfortable with the standard equipment set.
• LT: This is the trim most shoppers should start with, because it gives you a better balance of features and value without pushing you to the top of the range.
• Premier: Choose this if you want the most upscale version of the Equinox and are willing to pay more for the top-end experience.

Some safety and driver-assistance features are optional rather than standard, so check each listing carefully before you buy.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Chevrolet Equinox?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and enough deal activity to reward careful shopping.

• Deal availability: 35.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 6,883 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.19% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 80.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,975, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $18,975 sits slightly below last year's $21,609.

That decline suggests the Equinox has become more affordable for used buyers, but it also means sellers may face more price pressure than they did a year ago. If you own one, your best resale position will come from strong condition, clean history, and desirable equipment. Listings with accident-free histories and the right trim or options should still draw interest, but you should expect buyers to compare aggressively against fresher rivals. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.78/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox safe?

The 2022 Chevrolet Equinox received Good scores in most IIHS crash tests, but it received a Marginal rating in the updated side crash test. It also earns five-star ratings from NHTSA overall, in frontal crash tests, and in side crash tests, with four-star ratings in rollover crash tests.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assistance features include automatic emergency braking with pedestrian braking, forward collision warning, following distance indicator, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, a Safety Alert Seat, and Teen Driver. Optional features include adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-change alert, a surround-view camera system, front park assist, rear park assist, and automatic parking assist. The main caveat is the Marginal IIHS side-crash result, so safety-minded shoppers should pay close attention to the full equipment list and not assume every listing has the same protection tech.

Should I buy a 2022 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 35.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.19% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.78/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds revised styling, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and available parking-assist features.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $21,255, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $18,975 average.
• It adds a little extra engine power and a more sophisticated braking system.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2022 is the smarter buy because it combines lower pricing with strong owner satisfaction and useful tech updates. If you can stretch your budget and want the newer model-year improvements, the 2023 is the better secondary path.
