Used 2022 Chevrolet Equinox for Sale nearColorado Springs, CO

How much does the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox cost?

Prices have softened 13.01% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 6,559 listings available, which gives you a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 6.8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 8/10.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, fuel efficiency, and spaciousness, and they also like the smooth ride and modern features. On the other hand, the Equinox is still described as fairly basic compared with some rivals, and some owners note the lack of programmable driver’s seats.

From a use-case standpoint, it fits you best if you want a comfortable, straightforward small SUV with easy tech and a simple ownership experience. It is less compelling if you want a more engaging drive or maximum utility.

Good and great deals account for 34.9% of listings, so there is still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with praise centered on comfort, fuel efficiency, and a sense that it is a good value. The expert review also describes it as a straightforward, easy-to-live-with crossover that covers the basics without much fuss.

Chevy’s three-year, 36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty and five-year, 60,000-mile powertrain coverage help support early ownership confidence.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a well-used example may feel ordinary rather than especially refined, so condition matters a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Chevrolet Equinox?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the transmission, interior wear, and how well the tech and driver-assist features work. You should also pay attention to overall condition, since the Equinox’s value depends heavily on whether it has been maintained and kept tidy.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The RS adds black exterior trim, darkened 19-inch wheels, a black interior with red stitching, and a model-specific shift knob, while the base trims are more restrained and most trim levels come with cloth seats standard.
• Powertrain: You get a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 170 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and standard front-wheel drive or optional all-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Standard driver aids include automatic emergency braking with pedestrian braking, forward collision warning, following distance indicator, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, a Safety Alert Seat, and Teen Driver. Optional features include adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-change alert, a surround-view camera system, front and rear park assist, and automatic parking assist.
• Infotainment: A 7-inch touchscreen is standard, along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a built-in 4G LTE WiFi hotspot. Higher trims get an 8-inch touchscreen and a 4.2-inch instrument-cluster screen.
• Fuel efficiency: EPA ratings are 28 mpg combined, with 26 mpg city and 31 mpg highway for front-wheel-drive models.

Which 2022 Chevrolet Equinox trim should I buy?

The 2022 Chevrolet Equinox is offered in 4 trim levels: LS, LT, RS, Premier.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Equinox experience with the standard 7-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the full set of standard driver-assistance features. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost path into the model.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it builds on the base setup without pushing you into the pricier upper end of the lineup. It is the trim to target if you want a balanced mix of equipment and price.
• RS: This is the style-focused choice, adding black exterior trim, darkened 19-inch wheels, a black interior with red stitching, and a model-specific shift knob. It suits you if you want the freshest look and a little more personality.
• Premier: This is the top trim, so it is the one to consider if you want the most upscale version of the Equinox lineup.

Some safety and convenience features remain optional on lower trims, including adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-change alert, a surround-view camera system, front and rear park assist, and automatic parking assist.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Chevrolet Equinox?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Deal availability: 34.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 6,559 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.01% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 79.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,600, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $18,600 sits slightly below last year's $21,381.

That drop suggests the Equinox has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price. If you purchase near the current average or below it, you may have a better chance of limiting further loss compared with someone who paid closer to last year’s higher market level.

The model’s broad appeal as a practical small crossover should help keep demand steady, especially for clean, well-equipped examples. Strong condition and desirable features will matter most when it is time to resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox safe?

The 2022 Equinox received top “Good” scores in most Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) crash tests, but received a “Marginal” rating in the updated side crash test. It earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in frontal and side crash tests and four-star ratings in rollover crash tests.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assistance features include automatic emergency braking with pedestrian braking, forward collision warning, following distance indicator, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, a Safety Alert Seat, and Teen Driver. Optional features include adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-change alert, a surround-view camera system, front and rear park assist, and automatic parking assist.

The Marginal side-crash result is the main caveat to keep in mind, even though the rest of the crash-test picture is strong.

Should I buy a 2022 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 34.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.01% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 adds revised styling, wireless smartphone integration, and available parking-assist tech.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $20,809, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $18,600 average.
• It adds a little extra power and a more sophisticated braking system.

The bottom line: If you want the lower purchase price and a well-equipped used SUV, the 2022 is the better starting point. If you are willing to spend more for a newer model-year update, the 2023 brings incremental improvements that may be worth the premium.
