How much does the 2022 BMW M3 cost?

Prices have softened 5.71% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 251 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2022 BMW M3 a good car?

Yes — the 2022 BMW M3 earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. The overview frames it as a high-performance sedan that still gives you real-world usefulness, including seating for five and a roomy trunk, so you get more practicality than a pure sports car. If you want a performance-focused sedan that can handle daily driving without giving up serious speed, this model year fits that use case well. 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 BMW M3 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview also emphasizes the M3’s blend of performance and everyday usability, which suggests it is built to serve as both a daily driver and a weekend performance car. At the same time, its desirability means you should expect ownership costs to stay on the higher side. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is paying premium money for a car that may also demand premium maintenance and repair attention.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 BMW M3?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a history report to confirm the car’s accident and title background, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection from a qualified mechanic. Focus on overall condition, especially signs of hard use, because a performance sedan like this can be driven more aggressively than a typical used car. It’s also smart to pay close attention to maintenance records and any wear items that could affect ownership costs.

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Deal availability: 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 251 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.71% compared with last year.

What is the 2022 BMW M3's resale value?

The current average of $71,892 sits slightly below last year's $76,243.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more selectively now but may also limit short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key is to buy well and keep the car in strong condition so you preserve as much value as possible. A well-kept example should still benefit from the model’s strong desirability and performance reputation.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 BMW M3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.71% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $69,362, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $71,892 average.
• It offers a more raw, enthusiast-focused driving feel.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $81,151, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $71,892 average.
• It adds a more versatile, premium-feeling package.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the best all-around pick if you want strong performance, solid satisfaction, and a reasonable market position. If price matters most, the 2021 is the better secondary path because it undercuts the current year while keeping the core M3 appeal.
