About 2022 Audi TTS
The Audi TT is now in its third generation, but it remains a sleek and stylish two-seater with a decently exciting driving experience. The car falls short on performance compared to some of its rivals, but standard all-wheel drive (AWD) and a lively engine help keep things interesting. Though cars are becoming scarcer as buyers gravitate toward large SUVs and pickup trucks, the market for performance cars is surprisingly strong. The TTS competes against a wide variety of spicy coupes that include the BMW Z4, Chevrolet Corvette, Ford Mustang, Lexus RC, and Mazda Miata. The 2022 TTS didn’t get much in the way of updates but is now available with an appearance package that brings bronze wheels and bronze interior trim pieces. Since it’s technically a trim level of the TT, the TTS is offered in one configuration that starts at $60,545 (including destination). The TTS is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 288 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. It’s paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox and the aforementioned AWD. The standard TT gets a version of the same engine that makes 228 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. It uses the same transmission and also gets AWD. The TTS’ small but upscale cabin comes standard with heated S sport seats, automatic climate controls, Nappa leather upholstery, navigation, brushed aluminum trim, an air filtration system, a Bang & Olufsen audio system, CD player, HD Radio, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and more. There’s no central touchscreen here, however, as the Audi Virtual Cockpit digital instrument cluster handles all infotainment functions. The 2022 Audi TTS has not received safety ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration NHTSA). Audi offers only a few advanced safety features, and unfortunately, all of them are optional. The 2022 Audi TTS is scheduled to hit dealers’ lots sometime in fall 2021. Buyers seeking an even more performance-forward experience can opt for the separate Audi TT RS model, which is more powerful and more expensive (and covered [__in a separate review__](https://www.cargurus.com/research/2022-Audi-TT-RS-c32099)).
