The 2022 Audi A8 is the German luxury brand’s full-size flagship sedan. The current generation has been on the market since 2019, and for 2022, it received a facelift that featured new headlights, new taillights, and an updated grille. The A8 has 12.5 cubic feet of trunk space, which is smaller than those of the BMW 7 Series and Mercedes-Benz S-Class.

The A8 is available in a single trim that is extremely well-equipped, including Audi’s S-Line package, with aerodynamic side sills and front-and-rear bumpers. Standard features include 19-inch alloy wheels, a Bang & Olufsen premium stereo system, and 22-way multi-contour power-adjustable front seats with heating, ventilation, and memory.

Screens are plentiful in the 2022 A8. In addition to the fully digital instrument panel (dubbed “Audi Virtual Cockpit”), the A8 comes with a dual-touchscreen center console layout. The lower screen operates vehicle operations such as climate control. The upper screen operates the stereo, navigation, and connectivity features such as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa.

The 2022 A8 is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine in a hybrid configuration. It makes 335 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed through an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission to Audi’s signature Quattro all-wheel drive. This powertrain returns fuel economy of 19 mpg city, 28 highway, and 22 combined. The A8 rides on an adaptive air suspension.

Base MSRP for the 2022 Audi A8 is $86,500. An Executive Package ($3,400) adds 20-inch wheels, adaptive cruise control with lane guidance, LED interior lighting, a heated steering wheel, and traffic-sign recognition. A Luxury Package ($5,400) adds dynamic four-wheel steering, heated-and-ventilated rear seats, heated rear armrests, and rear-seat remote control. The Comfort Plus Package ($3,250) adds massaging front seats, head-up display, premium leather upholstery, dual-pane acoustic glass, and heated front armrests. The A8 is backed by a four-year/50,000-mile powertrain warranty.
