Used 2022 Audi A3 for Sale nearWashington, DC

How much does the 2022 Audi A3 cost?

Prices have softened 10.59% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 406 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Audi A3 a good car?

Generally — the 2022 Audi A3 earns a 4/5 user rating and an 8.8/10 expert rating, which puts it in strong territory for shoppers who want a premium compact sedan. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

The A3’s appeal comes through in its stylish design, premium compact four-door layout, and added upscale features that give it more of a premium presence. It also stands out for its fun-to-drive character and impressive technology.

One trade-off is that prices rise quickly with trims and options. Another is that the higher-performance S3 variant sits well above the standard A3 in price.

For you, that means the A3 makes the most sense if you want a small luxury sedan that feels polished and tech-forward rather than purely budget-focused. Good and great deals account for 36.5% of listings, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Audi A3 reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction. The A3 is described as a familiar, proven choice for the class, and its turbocharged 2.0-liter engine is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic that is designed to shift quickly and efficiently.

That transmission setup is a strength because it helps the car deliver smoother shifts and better efficiency without giving up performance character. The model also uses a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, which supports its efficiency-minded design.

If you buy used, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the car has been maintained properly, especially because the A3’s premium features and drivetrain complexity can make neglected examples more expensive to own.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Audi A3?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the report carefully, because even a strong accident-free share does not guarantee the specific car you’re considering has a clean past. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, and pay close attention to condition, maintenance records, and any signs of wear in the interior and electronics.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The A3 arrives as a four-door sedan only, with a classy, elegant design and a modern minimalist interior. Base-trim equipment includes a 10.1-inch touchscreen, while higher trims add features such as the Virtual Cockpit, head-up display, and more premium audio.
• Powertrain: The turbocharged 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine produces 201 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque, and it is assisted by a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. The seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch automatic is a key part of the car’s performance character.
• Safety package: Standard Pre Sense Basic, pre sense front, high-beam assist, and lane-departure warning are included on every A3. Available features include side assist blind-spot monitoring, Pre Sense Rear, Parking System Plus, Park Assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control with lane-centering.
• Infotainment: The A3 uses a 10.1-inch touchscreen for MMI, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. Wireless charging is available, and the Virtual Cockpit 12.3-inch digital instrument panel is standard on Prestige and available on Premium Plus.
• Fuel efficiency: EPA-rated fuel economy is 29 mpg city, 38 mpg highway, and 32 mpg combined for the front-wheel-drive A3, while the all-wheel-drive version is rated at 28 mpg city, 36 mpg highway, and 31 mpg combined.

Which 2022 Audi A3 trim should I buy?

The 2022 Audi A3 is offered in 3 trim levels: Premium, Premium Plus, Prestige.

Here's the short version:

• Premium: This is the entry point, but it still gives you a strong equipment list with 17-inch alloy wheels, eight-way power front seats with four-way power lumbar, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a panoramic sunroof, and lane departure warning. It is the best-value trim if you want the A3 experience without stretching too far.
• Premium Plus: This trim adds adaptive cruise control, memory for the driver’s seat, wireless device charging, advanced key, and Active Lane Assist. It is the sweet spot if you want a more complete luxury and tech package without jumping to the top trim.
• Prestige: This is the most fully equipped version, adding matrix-design LED headlights, a Bang & Olufsen sound system with 3D sound, the Virtual Cockpit digital instrument panel, a head-up display, and navigation. It suits you best if you want the most upscale A3 experience.

Safety features are strong across the lineup, with standard Pre Sense Basic, pre sense front, high-beam assist, and lane-departure warning on every A3.

The current average of $21,252 sits slightly below last year's $23,769.

That price movement suggests the A3 has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy at the current average or below, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later.

Available driver-assistance features include side assist blind-spot monitoring, Pre Sense Rear, Parking System Plus, Park Assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control with lane-centering.

Should I buy a 2022 Audi A3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 36.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.59% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 model brings a new generation of production, a more polished feel, and added upscale features that help it feel more premium.

The bottom line: If you want the newest-feeling A3 with strong tech, a polished cabin, and a more premium presence, the 2022 is the right path to focus on. If you’re more price-sensitive, you can still find value in the market, but you should be especially selective about condition and equipment.
